I have been going to the fair since 2005. Not a whole lot has changed, and that is why I love going to the fair. It is what you expect. A complete waste of hard-earned money on fried oreos, caramel apples, lemonade, and other. They got rid of the bucket of fries concession they used to have, and I miss that! I am thankful they got rid of the cyclops after what happened at the Ohio State Fair last year. I got to experience it one time before they got rid of it for the 2017 fair. They have a horrid petting zoo that is borderline animal cruelty. The rabbits sit in wire cages with their little feet going through the cage, sitting in their own poop. I hate going in there just to look at it, and I am surprised Forsyth County residents pay money to let their kids feed these neglected animals. They surprisingly keep it clean throughout the fair, and it is the usual wave of interesting groups of people walking through. It is a fun family adventure if you are okay with spending money and extremely long lines. In 2010, I could ride the rides forever and a day. Now, if you want to ride the rides, you need to get there when the fair opens and ride them all at that moment. There are just too many residents now, and everyone comes on the...
Read moreBest family outing day, first time visiting and will definitely be back. Very well organized, from free parking site (across the Fairgrounds), the bridge leading to the entrance, the ticket booth moves very fast, everything runs smoothly. Everyone were very corteaus and helpful ( the parking attendants, ticket booth attendants, the ride attendants, they're all very informative and enforce the height rules for children which makes sense, safety first). There are so many different type of rides, we did the Lyft (aereal tram) first to scope the whole Fairgrounds from the air and kind of picked and choose which rides we wanted to try and to use our $30 unlimited rides tickets to the fullest 😁. We enjoyed the beautiful view and nice fall breeze from the Lyft ride and Ferris wheel. We came early, as soon as it's open at 10 am, so the line was not long but for some popular rides it can get pretty long towards the afternoon. My kids had so much fun trying all the rides we can during our visit, riding the ponies ($7/ride - not included on the $30 unlimited rides), petting the farm animals, etc. They didn't want to leave, we had to force and promise them that we will go back again next time. The best fairgrounds we...
Read moreUpdated: 10-11-2024 did the bbq food. This time we also did the haunted house! A must and the fast passive tickets are worth it no waiting there. Super fun and scary. We love the rides too this time we went earlier and we're able to do more rides. Wayyyyy better to get this tickets than a wrist band. You can use them other days or save for next year if line get too long and you cannot go on too many rides save the tickets the wrist bands are for that day only. Also when going during the day take a jacket so you do not freeze. We will go back next year too. Best time ever. Great food. We ate too much, lol. The rides had long lines, but it was worth it to wait. We loved the pig races. There were several cute shops with local handmade things. We spent 7 hours there and will be...
