Dillon Tennis Center — Attraction in Oakland Park

Very nice attention to detail at this 8 clay court public tennis facility.

They have eight har tru tennis courts with above ground sprinklers flexible hours and nice division between courts with 3/4 wrap vinyl fencing and windscreens as well as divider netting so it would be rare to have a ball come onto your court that isn't yours.

They seem to have a lot of USTA action here which is a positive sign since that crowd is picky about court surface.

Each court has a shaded seating area and cold water coming out of the fountains to cool you off.

They also have separate building for Men's and Ladies Rooms. The Men's room even has a shower if you need to change after tennis.

They do lock the courts they aren't using to save some maintenance work and have reasonable rates for non residents at $10 per play per hour.

Free parking in the lot on the EAST side of the facility.

Great spot for clay court tennis.

The staff is incredibly friendly, and the courts are in excellent shape. Unfortunately, it's not the best place to watch matches, because of the court orientation and windscreens.

Court timing can be frustrating too. In general, you can only reserve a court for an hour, and many matches go beyond that, so you may find yourself kicked off of your court and having to switch or (worse) wait for another court to open in order to...

Great public clay courts in Oakland Park. The staff lead my the head pro Mike and Shawn in the office/facilities manager are amazing and have become like family. These courts are very welcoming and host a few USTA teams and are also the choice courts for many members of the local Gay and Lesbian Tennis Association.
