I've been to this store three times. The first two visits were extremely pleasant and earned a 5-star rating, but the third time was not so much.
During my most recent experience, I brought in a laptop I had purchased from the store because the screen wasn’t working. I went in to get a diagnosis or repair. When I arrived, I explained the issue, and they informed me they needed to run a diagnostic test, which would be free. I asked how soon I would hear back—maybe two or three days? The employee hesitantly repeated, "Yeah, 2-3 days."
About an hour later, I received a text/email saying the diagnostic was complete. When I checked the findings, they were essentially a word-for-word verbatim, regurgitation of what I had described as the issue, along with a quote for the cost of a screen replacement. I called back, hoping to speak with someone else who could provide additional context, like whether the issue was related to software or hardware. Unfortunately, both people I spoke with could only repeat the same information I had already shared with them when I dropped off the computer.
It would have been helpful if they had added some value—perhaps offering insights into what the issue actually was, or suggesting that, based on the computer's age and the cost of repair, it might be better to consider purchasing a new one. They could even have recommended one of the models they had for sale. Instead, the attitude was simply, “The price is the price; if you don’t like it, don’t buy it,” with no alternatives or recommendations.
From a customer experience perspective, it felt like a waste of time and energy on a Saturday to make two trips just to drop off and pick up the laptop.
Ultimately, I bought a computer on eBay, and I’m very satisfied with that purchase. With better customer service, however, I likely would have bought a replacement directly...
Read moreDMV Computerman Electronic Shop is phenomenal. The customer service was outstanding. I needed a new battery and motherboard for my computer, and they also replaced my keyboard without me even asking, which I am incredibly thankful for.
Due to the complexity of the repairs, they had my computer for longer than expected. Understanding my reliance on the computer for my business, they kindly provided me with a loaner computer. This thoughtful gesture really helped me continue my work without interruption.
However, the replacement of the motherboard resulted in the loss of VERY IMPORTANT FILES that were not backed up to my iCloud Drive, which I am devastated about because that was a month's worth of work. Additionally, I encountered an issue with placing files on my desktop after the repair.
My only suggestion for the shop is to ensure customers back up their files in front of the technicians, just in case there are any issues with their current backup processes.
Despite this setback, I still highly recommend DMV Computerman Electronic Shop for their excellent service and dedication to customer...

My laptop was having problems shutting off and Cardo immediately dropped everything he was doing to assess the problem. He wasn't able to diagnose the issue right then and there, so I had to leave the laptop with them. From this process he and his team were communicative with me thru this entire time. He went above and beyond by running several programs to solve the problem. The beauty of all of this was, he did this without charging me a dime! Yes, FREE! The computer ended up having a hard drive problem and he suggested several routes he could take, but I decided not to move forward. The simple fact that Cardo and the team did all of this for FREE shows that this business cares and is not out to make a quick buck.
