My experience at Dogtopia seems to go against the grain, given the other reviews Iāve observed. In fact, all of the terrific reviews are The primary reason behind it choosing Dogtopia at all...
So, Iāll start by saying that my dog is 12 years old, and I have bathed him myself on countless occasions, as well as had numerous different companies all over the country, bathe him repeatedly over the years. That being said, I know what he looks like and what his coat feels like, after he has been bathed. I also know the level of difficulty associated with this task. My dog has a very thick coat, and in order to do a good job, even for a professional, itās going to take at least 20 to 25 minutes, even for a rush job. Air drying takes all day⦠And with a forced air dryer, itās still going to take about an hour.
With all of that information out in the open⦠My wife dropped my dog off to be bathed at noon, and Dogtopia called her to come and pick him up 30 minutes later. She had only been home from the drop off for 10 minutes. This is completely unheard of. I was on my lunch break, when my wife told me about this. I called Dogtopia to confirm the situation, and I was reassured by a male team member that in fact it did only take 30 minutes to take care of my dog. My dog has a pure white coat with some black dots. If he isnāt bathed for a couple of weeks, it begins to take on a slight yellowish hue. After a bath, the yellow is gone. His fur is also much more puffed out. The puffy effect will last a couple of days at least. When I got home from work a few hours later, my dog was still yellow, and his fur was laying down. He did smell nice, however, there are perfumes made specifically for dogs.
The gist of the story is, thereās no way that anyone could have bathed and dried my dog in 30 minutes. Even if they did the least detail-oriented job of it, ever. Iām very certain that the team at Dogtopia just sprayed some perfume on him, called us up, and said that he was good to go. Iām disgusted, and will never go there again. Dogtopia stole my money, and I donāt think that it is wise for anyone to go there, ever. If they are willing to deceive their customers in such away, who knows what else they might do with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used this facility many times over the past year Horrible experience !!! I would highly suggest refraining from using them due to convenience prices off Groupon or in general. I have 2 dogs that I often would bring here staff always seemed nice and attentive to my dogs. I even had a few conversations with the owner who seemed very nice. Unfortunately this week I after many weeks brought my dogs in for doggie daycare one being 5 months old I like for the two to be together later that day I called the facility to check on the youngest I was told that while in the large dog playroom and because my pup likes to play an older dog got annoyed and snapped at him but he was fine he just had a scratch I was informed that my dogs were taken to the medium size dog pen which they should of been in the first place.. I went to pick up my dogs after work and I saw a spot on my pups head but I was in a hurry and he was excited therefore not paying close attention When I got home I realized the mark in his head was a puncture wound from the tooth of the dog that snapped at him and had swollen up double on his head mind you no one called me about this and they continued to allow him to play with a head injury all day. I called and spoke to some teenager that said she was a manager she used some excuse that they have 20 dogs and they had a contract. They failed to call me ending my dog up at the vet getting his wound drained s d X-rays. The owner never called me to even discuss their procedures or a incident report type of dog shot records she avoided me. With that said please do not use this place they also do not have cameras therefore making it convenient to get out of recorded dog play there are places that put more emphasis on the Customer satisfaction and procedure when incidences Like this take place and showing concern she did none...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy dog went here for a couple months and all seemed ok. I watched the dogs play on the webcams ( when they worked, most of the time they are offline) and the dogs seemed to be having fun. The employees donāt seem to interact with the dogs at all and just wander around back and forth. Occasionally with a mop to clean up messes. I watched one time for 20 minutes straight and did not see the employee even acknowledge any dog even when they would come up to her for attention. Sheād actually turn away from them intentionally and not because they were acting bad, they just wanted pets.
My dog would come home very tired. I get that. He plays hard. But he also would come home smelling HORRIBLY like he was lying in pee all day. It was so bad he had to have a bath after each visit. Then my other dog ( who doesnāt go to daycare) started getting a bad cough. Then my dog who did attend got the same cough. Which turned into vomiting and diarrhea and an emergency vet visit. $700+ later I was able to take him home. He almost died as he was so dehydrated.
I miss being able to take him there as he loved it but his life isnāt worth the risk. Dogtopia needs a major deep clean and better flooring. I know for a fact they mop the floor after the dogs pee and poop with dirty mop water. Which the dogs likely lick because they are dogs and donāt know any better. They make enough money to put down turf and to use better cleaning solutions and processes. The dogs shouldnāt come home so smelly and mine isnāt the only one. Iāve heard many horror stories of this location and Iām afraid itāll take someone losing their poor pet for them to...
