My 18 year old daughter and I have been trying boutique coffee shops all over the city. We both love coffee and we love trying new places. Today we tried Cabin Coffee Co. for the first time. Unfortunately, we were both underwhelmed. I ordered an Americano and she ordered a plain latte with cinnamon powder on top. First off, both drinks were hot, which we very much appreciate. Unfortunately, neither of us liked the taste of the espresso in our drinks. To us, it tastes like cheap coffee you might buy off the shelf at the store. Itâs not un-drinkable, but itâs not something I would order again. And second, my daughterâs latte didnât come with any cinnamon powder on top, even though it was on the order sticker on the cup. Thatâs disappointing. I know that new businesses have growing pains, so maybe Iâll go back and try a plain coffee to see if thatâs any better. Or maybe it was a bad batch of espresso beans? I donât know. I do know that the majority of their clientele probably doesnât care about the beans because they buy syrupy drinks and donât want to taste the actual coffee or espresso. But from someone who loves a really good cup of black coffee, I was underwhelmed. AND ALSO, $1.50 up-charge for non-dairy milk? Come on. I could be wrong, but that feels like youâre exploiting this new wave of coffee drinkers who are going dairy-free....

The workers were all extremely friendly, however, they asked me twice at ordering and again at the window what I was ordering and everything that came with it (asked if it was the cinnamon roll mocha three times, asked if it was iced twice, and asked about whip cream multiple times)⌠which is fine, I know people are probably learning but I was the only one in line so I was confused.
I also did not expect a $1.50 upcharge for oat milk - which might have been on me if it was listed on the menu - however I canât have dairy so I donât have an option. Itâs a bit of sticker shock when most other places offer it for $1 upcharge or even $0.75 at some spots.
I was also charged $0.75 for âfull flavorâ when all I did was order the cinnamon roll mocha? Iâm confused about how all this shakes out and how a medium drink with oat milk costs $8đ
Lastly, the iced latte definitely tastes like cold brew, not espresso. So if thatâs something you like, the iced latte is definitely for you! But not what I was expecting and not worth $8...
Read moreIt's been hit or miss when I come here but zi continue to do so because its literally down the street from me. I enjoy their breakfast burritos. Coffee has been the hit or miss. Today I ordered a sugar free turtle latte with oatmilk for pickup through the app. It asks if you want to remove the whip & I didn't select to do so because I like having the whip on it for at least some sweetness. This was the second time it wasn't on the drink although I never selected selected to remove it. I can understand how maybe its assumed to remove it since I selected sugar free & oatmilk instead of regular 2%. However, if it wasn't selected to remove it on the app, I feel like it should be on there. My drink also tasted like straight oatmilk & syrup. Wasn't a fan the last couple times ordering this drink. Staff is always very friendly. I could have asked to put the whip on but I was in a hurry so unfortunately just didnt. I ended up throwing my whole drink away because it just did not taste good & it...
