I'm not sure who is doing the hiring for this place but everytime I come in it looks like they grab someone off the street and throw them behind the cash register. Every visit has been inconsistent someone always making up different rules. They don't allow you to bring large bags.. So you have to leave your purse in your car and it's not exactly a respectable neighborhood or they have the nerve to ask to keep it behind the counter uh I don't know you and they constantly leave the counter. They want to make sure you don't steal but don't give a damn if someone snatches your purse from behind the counter no thanks. This experience was the cherry on top, an older woman came up to me and asked if I wanted a box of eyelashes that's all I buy here the costume jewelry that they sell for $5.99 and up can easily be bought at a swap meet for $1. I always buy at least one box but mix and match my eyelashes but still get them in 12s. The lady tells me it has to be a box which every other time the employees give them to me for the dollar because I'm doing them in 12.. Nope ever adamant about them being 1.25 each. Tells me I can ask the owner to which ok I'll ask at the counter but immediately this old man comes up to me with a gun on his hip as "security" says they have to be in the box of 12. I'm sorry are you the owner?! I don't think so. Eyelashes are the only good deal here hut they are inconsistent in the price you will always have some straight outta rehab "employee" helping you and harassing you about your purse pricing etc. Will be just ordering online this experience is nothing short of...
Read moreMy first time to the store since seeing their commercial and visiting the spot in the Fantastic Mall. The items are beautiful and breathtaking. I found the two young ladies not that helpful though. When we found the items we needed and asked if they had more they stated no, well we found six more of the items without them even looking. They just didn't seem helpful, we did have two small children with us that we were trying to control so they would not touch anything and the owner came out and did not even say hi to his costumers. I did purchase quite a bit and I will be going back(because we need more of the same items we bought for a celebration) until I can find somewhere else that sells the same products but with a more friendly staff that doesn't think you are going to steal. good product (same I can find at the LA garment district) just very disappointed in the costumer service, do they understand WORD OF MOUTH advertising...
Read moreThis place is a performer's treasure trove!! Many of my friends in the entertainment business would be lost without DuBarry. I am always impressed with the outstanding variety they fit into their store. They have all shapes, sizes and prices when it comes to costume jewelry, plus having awesome and affordable accessories and cosmetics. You can find a rhinestone necklace for $1 or $100 - there is truly something for every budget. If you have not been there yet, even if you are just visiting, it is well worth the trip. I love this store and stop in any time I'm in the area just to check for any new gems I can't live without, especially knowing they won't break my budget! I guarantee you'll leave with a lot more than you...
