(This is not a place for cheap baby sitting. While there is games for small kids, there is mostly older teenagers and adults here. If you are looking for a place to take small kids too, Round One is better for that family experience.)
I have been coming to Game Nest for a couple years now. They are always adding new machines and they just expanded by taking over the shop next door. This place has something for everyone from a few old classic cabs, some cart rentals and controllers to amazing Rhythm Game cabs.
Why I come here:
When I first started getting into Rhythm games about 4 years ago it was first through the VR game Beat Saber. There was a lot of cool music I had never been exposed to and though that community I was shown many cool Rhythm cab games.
One thing I learned over the years is that unless you have a Round One somewhere close to a major city, you are likely not going to have the chance to try lots of Rhythm Game Cabs. For some countries there's next to nothing. This is where Game Nest definitely shines. There is so many cabs to choose from and play and it's fairly inexpensive to try all of them.
I know some games are offline, so you may not be able to sync your players card to play unlocked levels for various games, but it's still a great place to try many things. Call ahead of you want to see if a machine is online to see if you can use your players card.
The way their pricing works is you pay for a certain amount of credits to use on the machines or pay by hour. I suggest if you are in town for a few days and plan on coming back, getting loaded credits. But if this is just a one time stop get hourly.
Keep in mind there is local players here who do stream and record their scores while playing, so be respectful if they are gaming. For example, The new MaiMai cabs always have someone on them, but the players do take breaks. Ask for a turn. Most of them are very nice.
Also if you are interested in getting into the game, ask if someone can show you how to get into the game. Almost every game I have tried someone around or was playing before was friendly enough to explain how the games work. Just don't be weird about it. Most people here are gaming, not there to be your next love interest.
Lastly, it should go with saying - If you are going to play any dance or intense cabs, please shower beforehand and bring your own sweat towel. Don't be... That guy...
Please be respectful of this place. But also be curious! This place is a gem and Vegas is super lucky to have such...
Read moreGame Nest is honestly my favorite arcade I've been to in Las Vegas. It's affordable, there are lots of games, and if you're actively learning Japanese and trying to get used to understanding it spoken in different ways and pitches, a lot of their games are in Japanese (spoken and written on the screen). If you are unsure how to play a game and you don't understand Japanese in the slightest, usually the game does give you visuals on how to play, unless they're like super common games like racing games. They have options to buy Credits or pay by the hour. I haven't bought credits, but for paying by the hour it's $10 for the first hour, and $1-$2 for the cards. You tap the cards on the machine and then you can play, in the same visit you can pay $5 to stay and extra hour if there are other games you wanna try but your time is almost up. They have a lot of rhythm games, like Chunithm, DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) and other games in that category. They have bigger games, such as Luigi's Mansion and this spider shooting (not sure what it's called, sorry). There are games that I haven't tried personally, but thats because I get stuck on the rhythm games for most of my visit. I guarantee they have a game for everyone, you're gonna like at 2-5 games in there. They also offer consoles to like play in the the arcade, I've never personally asked to use them but they always inform you that they do have them so just ask. Also the staff are always so awesome and you can always ask them questions. I know this is super long, but I wanted to provide as much information as possible as someone who goes there regularly (like once a month since I started going in August of 2021) and I will probably be making a visit within the next...
Read moreBy far the most incredible arcade in the United States. Awesome unique games, great people, and cheap enough to play whatever you want for as long as you want.
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Heck, I wish I'd never given any other place 5 stars, just so that rating could be reserved only for this place.
The people are super friendly, and you can play the games as many times as you want for ridiculously cheap prices. The games are not only amazing, but varied and of the kind one really can't anywhere else in the States. This is literally the only arcade in America where I've been able to find maimai, for instance, after years of searching by me and many of my friends (though the people here are so awesome they were able to tell me about 1 more in North Carolina). On top of it all, even on a Friday night with a convention in town it wasn't crowded enough to prevent us playing all of the games we wanted, especially thanks to how considerate everyone there is.
For anyone who likes arcades, and especially anyone who's seen and misses the arcades of Japan, this is simply a dream come true: a place where you can play any kind of game you want for as long as you want, as if you could have them all in...
