Cashman Park — Attraction in Spring Valley

I live directly across the street from the park & have two dogs so I am there often, sometimes twice a day. The reason I go late at night when there is hardly anyone there is cause during the day there are countless illegal aliens hanging out all-over the park even in the bathrooms trying to sell me methods & smoking it right out in the open as I watch kids running around playing & their parents sitting there watching their kids. It's the point where it feels like they have taken over the park & they also sleep there with blankets & bags everywhere by the bathrooms as they drink & have empty beer cans & garbage all around there blankets &, bags turning it into their station. The few times I've gone late at night & it's empty it is only cause I notice a police car parked across the street watching. Other than that is is a beautiful park with a beautiful view of the strip when you I am sitting there at night with my dogs. Only one time did I have some homeless meth addict yell at me to not walk by him or anywhere near him with my dogs who are allways on a leash & friendly hardly ever even noticing people much less a meth addict sitting in the grass with his whole life in bags talking to himself. My dogs still did not even notice him much less bark as he was yelling at the top of his lungs to not walk by him cause the only way out was an exit yards away from him so I was not about to walk all the way around a whole block away just to appease him & his entitlement issues that most homeless drug start to feel like you are in...

I didn't like it. I took my 3 1/2 year old grandson, but the slides for the younger kids were chained up, and one of the safety gates was broken, so it wasn't safe for him to go up and slide down. Also, there was a group of Hispanic children that were sitting at the top of the stairs, not allowing the smaller children to pass and use the slides. We left, and went to Basin Park, so he could cool off in the water. I like Baskin Park a lot more than I do...

The park is clean but could use some sprucing up. Playground mat under the equipment needs to be replaced. I was impressed how clean the park is including the restroom. Seems like people do a good job picking up after their dogs. There is not a parking lot so you have to park...
