This was my third time to this course and all three times experienced poor customer service. While the first two were definitely subpar I didn’t write a negative review, but after this final experience, that I would classify as the “worst” regardless of venue, I felt compelled to share.
When I first arrived to the bag drop there were two Eagle Creek employees standing there but neither offered any assistance except directing me to which cart I could place my own bag. The second incident occurred when I was leaving the pro shop and an employee had kindly open the door for me as I exited but before I had even got through the doorway he sarcastically says “your welcome” before I could offer my thanks. Finally, as I pull up to the first tee with my playing partner (plying as a 3 some) the starter informs me I must ride with a stranger whom I’ve never met. Now pre COVID I would have had no issue, but to stick people with other at the last second in todays environment is wrong. When in voiced my displeasure the starter stated I could pay an extra $10 to ride by myself. While i felt it was over the top after just paying $90+ I proceeded to the pro shop to settle up. Once I told the individual behind the counter of my discussion with the starter he said that wasn’t correct and asked me who the starter was as if I was making the story up. Once the starter confirmed via radio that he told me $10, the individual in the pro shop said that wasn’t correct and proceeded to try and charge me $25. At that point I requested a refund which they processed and then heard a statement I have never been told by a business….I hope you never come back…Rest assured Eagle Creek that I won’t! I left and went 5 minutes to North Shore and had a wonderful round. Too many quality courses in the area to give your money to these rude...
Read moreI recently played Eagle Creek twice during the 2024 thanksgiving weekend and then afterwards I noticed that I reviewed this course 7 years ago. So here's an update. I honestly think this is one of the best courses in the Orlando area to play. If you look at the state of golf in Orlando, a lot has changed over the years. Courses that I used to marvell at when I was younger, have kind of lost their luster (Falcon's Fire or the Stoneybrook courses), but EC has remained one of the best options I think in the Orlando area. Eagle Creek conditions this week were at least a 9/10. Honestly the only complaint I could make were that the greens had a few divots that didn't heal great, but this is likely because people did not properly fix them. But overall the greens were plenty fast for this time of year (any faster and conditions would be really tough honestly) and they were a lot of fun to putt on. The fairways were pristine as well. The layout is still really great and feels very modern. There is usually a generous landing area around the greens so if you happen to miss-hit a shot you may have a tough up and down but you will not likely lose your ball. Every single par 3 make for very interesting play and I love that the course finishes with par 5/3/5. There is a great mix of wide open holes where you can try and crush a drive and other holes that will make you think about whether you want to hit driver or consider something safer like 3 wood or long iron. A couple of par 4's give you the option of hitting a 4-6 iron off the tee as well. In summary, the holes offer lots of different ways to play. The greens have some amazing undulations and overall its just a lot of fun to play. Also, the starter and crew that worked there that I met were all friendly...
Read morePlayed here March 9, 2024 and teed off around 10-1030am… -Driving range is one of the worst kept I’ve been to, may as well hit out of a sandbox -If you want to spend $125 to be pestered by a Course Marshal for 4 hours, this is the course for you! -We were a 4-some and this guy expected us to keep pace with a 2-some in front of us. First encounter, he said we were 9 minutes slow, a hole behind, and needed to pick it up. He didn’t care that the 4-some behind us never had to wait. Second encounter, we had gained some ground but he was still disappointed that we were now 3 minutes behind pace and still weren’t fast enough. Third run in, we all ignored him because we were on the Par-5 16 green with very manageable putts and the 2-some had just walked onto the Par-3 17 green. The 4-some behind us had just teed off on 16. We found his “hurry up and wait” approach to people’s rounds completely unnecessary, and his attitude extremely rude. The kicker, our friends were the 4-some behind us and he blamed our group for them being slow. They said we all knew each other and didn’t have to wait, so no big deal…to which he didn’t care. -No beverage cart service either until we got to the 10 fairway. There are water jugs on a few holes but all were empty -Low review for this experience, but the course itself is fun -Whatever they’re doing to care for the back 9, they need to do to the front 9…it felt like a totally different course with how good of shape the grass was in -There are comparable and superior courses around Orlando that don’t have Marshals harassing your round. I’d only play here again if it was some sort of $100 tournament that included a...
