Took Newfoundgap Road out of Tennesee on our way to Asheville, NC, and we were so glad! Absolutely breathtaking views driving up and down a mountain. Lots of little stops and pull offs along the way, including the very cool Mingus Mill, which is a still standing old ghristmill from 1886. It's like stepping back in history with the backdrop of the smoky mountains - brilliant! We will definitely be taking this and other routes through the smoky mountains on our way home from TN in the future, over taking the boring highway just to save some time.
