I've been in a couple times and very impressed with the on-hand selection of parts and kits. Customer service is everything to me and they definitely don't know what "customer service" even means. I asked for a part behind the counter and after the 2 workers were talking to each other for a couple minutes, 1 finally comes over to "help" me. He comes up in a rude tone "what do you need?" like I was inconveniencing him. I needed some parts so I bought them and went on my way thinking, "maybe he was just having a bad day and I'll try again." Next time I went in about 2 weeks later I came in asking a question after looking around for a bit, once again, I was inconveniencing someone AT THEIR JOB. Well, I tried again and they didn't want my money! Let me tell you why I say this. I was looking for a new plane and wanted it that day so I could just plug in one of my several batteries and just go. I picked out my plane and took the box up to the cash register where there was nobody around. There was really only me and 2 other people walking around and 4 employees working (I may have it backwards but that's the way it looked). I tinkered with my phone while I was waiting for someone to cash me out, occasionally looking around to make eye contact with someone, hopefully. I did make eye contact a couple minutes into waiting and the guy continued doing whatever it was he was doing. I waited just over 10 minutes at the counter until FINALLY someone says "can I help you?"...10 minutes? Understandable if you're busy with other customers but busy playing on your phone or reading a magazine, really? "Well I was going to buy this but you obviously don't want my money...."and then walked out. I will now just buy online from someone else, even China, because even if you get something broken or you have a question, they'll actually answer you and seem like they want your business instead of feeling like I'm not a welcome guest in someone's house. I guess you just have to be friends with the staff for them to treat you like a normal customer...unless their training includes not helping people that don't come in every day. Oh well, just bought 2 more planes from Nitro, and even with shipping, paying less...

Well I usually don’t write reviews but as once being a business owner at one time here in Omaha I think I should bring it to the owner’s attention. Well this afternoon I asked my Stepson if he would run to HobbyTown and purchase me a 11.1Volt LiPo and he took a picture of th one I wanted off the website which was a : “Gens Ace 3S LiPo Battery 25C (11.1V/2200mAh) w/T-Style Connector” for $19.99 as well as I would be needing a XT-60 adapter plug and well when arriving home my Stepson who is a 30 year old man tells me that the person to whom he had asked for assistance from was kind of cold and unwilling to help and told me it sounded as if the battery that I wanted was out of stock and didn’t offer any assistance any further than. He said to me I would of thought that maybe the person he asked for help would of suggested a different battery that was in stock and with extra cost wasn’t a problem but that didn’t happen. I know with people just getting back to work with this COVID-19 lurking in the air that some are a bit unsettled yet how ever this has not been my first bad experience with HobbyTown it was about 10 years I myself had been treated a bit rude but yet I see most of the reviews are that of good reviews. So, I ask why out of 4 visits to HobbyTown why have I had only one good experience? Well to round things up here I will never go back, I should of just stuck to ordering on eBay. Thank you for you time and best of...
Read moreThe first store I initially went to (irvington exit with a track), there was an older gentleman, greying hair, very rude to begin our interaction. I asked "excuse me you guys have restroom I can use?", he said "we have several". After returning to the counter trying to wait for his transaction with another customer to end, he says "You need something? Not until i asked to buy an expensive traxxas ultimate for my son, did his demeanor change and he become VERY FRIENDLY. The other younger long haired guy made it better but it still kinda left me with a greasy feeling about hobbytown. However, Kameron and the woman working along side him on 84th street however.... let me tell you! NIGHT AND DAY difference! So, it drove 3 ft and died. Kameron warrantied the thing out, swapped out bad parts, helped several other customers, filled me in on some things about the cars (I don't know squat about them), and did it with perfect customer service. He and the gal work seamlessly to run that store, it impressed the hell outta me! The store was very well organized and the displays were way better! Oh yea did I mention he got me outta there in about 30-45 mins? Those two need raises! Bravo Kameron for saving the day! Hats off brother! Faith is restored...
