Tired of supermarket eggs and wanting fresh eggs, we finally made it to your ranch from Long Beach to pick up some eggs for ourselves and neighbors. There's nothing like a fresh egg. They remind me of eggs I had at my grandmother's farm in upstate New York growing up. We walked in around 10:45ish yesterday (Sunday) and tried to figure out what was available. The lady behind the register was super friendly and helpful to anyone that was hispanic and spoke spanish but we were given the cold shoulder. She pretended not to speak english when I asked her some questions about the eggs. When I asked her the difference between the free range and vegetarian eggs she acted like she didn't want to give us the time of day and said....male/female. Thinking she meant they were fertile I asked her if they were fertile (she understood what I said) and said no. People came and went while we were still trying to have some simple questions answered. Finally we just said the hell with it and asked her if she had flats of free range to which she said no. Just because we are with males and speak no spanish is no reason for anyone to treat us differently. There are other places we can go to procure eggs but you were rated so highly. We do not want anything but someone to give her some customer service lessons and to treat everyone that comes into your business as a equal. Though I am a white male, prior to my retirement I worked for 25 years investigating discrimination complaints and mediating employment disputes. I also have been the Chair and Commissioner of the Civil Service Commission and Citizen's Police Complaint Commission. I do know when someone is intentionally being biased. There is no excuse for the way were were being treated by...

I was at Mausts earlier today. What I saw will sit in my mind for very long time. As I walked back to my car I passed by what I thought was petting zoo for kids. There Lambs and other animals freely roaming the small gated area. From a distance I saw a group of people looking at something. I assumed they were petting an animal. But as I got closer the sound of a scared lamb baaing became evident. There was a couple of guys literally tying the legs and torso of a helpless lamb together. He was crying out of absolute fear and then threw the poor animal in the trunk of a Hyundai sedan and drove off. The type of person that can hogg tie a live animal as he screams for his life and laugh as they toss him into the trunk of car, is a very scary type of person.

The reason I'm posting this is because Mausts could have stopped it. They are a business that placed profit over the welfare of the animals under their care. I only shutter to imagine how they treat the rest of animals. I will never shop here again and I sincerely hope that anyone who cares about animals to reconsider as well.

I'm giving them a 3 star rating because although i firmly believe they were negligent, their failure to act had nothing to do with the goods or services rendered unto me. If i could give them a neutral review (0 stars) i would. Regardless, I will...

Easy peeling hard-boiled eggs. ‐----------------------------------- Update: after peeling hard boiled eggs, crush shells and distribute in your plants, a little bit per plant. They can be buried or, like I do, just set a few on top of the soil. Last for months. I add a few more about every 4-6 months or as needed along with some potting soil. Along with nut shells and coffee grounds, your plants will be happy for years to come when used every few months.

EGGS Boil water with some salt and vinegar added in a covered pan. Vinegar softens the shell.

I put 18 eggs into large pan directly into boiling water using tongs. 13.5 minutes or so. 11.5 min for golden yolks. Your time may vary. Turn off heat, move pan from hot burner.

Put eggs with tongs into bowl with water and 8-12 cubes of ice (depending). Let them cool enough to handle.

While still warm, I remove all shells in a few minutes with very little to no problems. Two hard knocks on egg ends on side of the kitchen sink. Press entire egg gently all over, shell loosens up. Start peeling from wide end. Gently wipe off any residue.

I store in covered, paper-towel-lined...

Update: easy-peeling, hard boiled eggs: Boil water with some salt and vinegar ( about a quarter cup per gallon of water) added in a covered pan. Vinegar softens the shell (use more vinegar if shells do not crack right off). I put eggs directly into boiling water using tongs. 13.5 minutes or so. A couple minutes less for softer yolks. Turn off heat, move pan from hot burner if you can) Put eggs with tongs directly into pan with cold water and 8-12 cubes of ice (depending). Let them cool enough to handle. While still warm, I remove all shells (use fully cracked very small pieces as plant fertilizer along with nutshells and coffee grounds) in a few minutes with no problems. I store in paper-towel lined Snapware. Business: Call a day ahead to verify hours. Kelp-fed chickens(live, refrigerated, eggs), ducks, fresh local jams and even super fresh flour and corn tortillas. A farmer's store Along with a small produce stand, some fun barn animals to view and feed, it's an interesting experience to visit. It's also fun to watch the roaming chickens.

Maust California Poultry Farm is truly one of the best places to visit! From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by such friendly people who make you feel right at home. They give you a bag full of goat food you can purchase so you can hand-feed the animals, which is such a fun and memorable experience. The farm also has unique green eggs, fresh homemade tortillas, and other amazing goodies you can take home. Everything feels so authentic and full of care. If you’re looking for a family-friendly spot with great people, happy animals, and delicious farm-fresh products, this is the place to go!

Here, we can get fresh eggs from the chicken farm, and the joy of buying fresh eggs outweighs the inconvenience of having to drive a long distance, so we go there once a month to buy enough eggs for our family to eat for a month. It's also fun to choose and buy fresh vegetables and fruits sold in the same place. We also get to see the antics of sheep, goats, donkeys, and Llamas... We don't just buy eggs, but also smell the soil and briefly remember visiting our grandparents in the countryside when we were young. So, even the tiring drive to Chino Hills is a happy outing for our family.
