I went to this salon at the recommendation of a colleague, but unfortunately the recommended nail tech named Cindy, wasn't available. I figured since the salon was relatively well reviewed, going to another tech would be OK. That was a terrible mistake. The technician I got, Gina, was one of the most poorly skilled techs I've ever gotten a full set from.
Her technique was horribly sloppy! She cut the cuticles on two of my fingers with the nail drill and got primer all over my skin, which burned. She slopped on huge amounts of acrylic until a lot of it fell off my nail and onto her work station. I've never seen a nail tech do anything like that.
She couldn't understand enough English know what shape I wanted my nails filed. I showed her pictures of the simple shape I wanted, but this only seemed to confuse her. Even after the owner came over to translate, she still looked confused. By the time she was done, each of my nails was a different shape. At one point, one of my nails was so crooked, I asked her to borrow the nail file so I could fix it myself. Despite asking that my nails be made thin, they were incredibly thick and chunky. They were simply awful!
By the end of the process, she refused to ring me out because she could tell I was unhappy. The owner seemed to question why she wasn't coming out to ring me up and she must have communicated to him that I was unhappy because he immediately asked me if I was OK with my nails. I told him I honestly wasn't and he and another gentleman in the shop offered to fix them. While I appreciated the gesture, at that point, I'd already been there nearly 2 hours and needed to leave. It was nice of the owner and the other male tech to offer to fix my nails and tell me to come back later so they could fix them, but I live too far away. I know not all nails techs are equally talented, but there is no way a salon should allow someone who is not properly skilled, to apply acrylic nails. I also take responsibility for not stopping her once I saw she didn't know what she was doing and insisting someone else finish my nails. But bottom line, no salon should allow this shoddy work to occur.
**Update: To respond to the owner, the nail tech told me her name was Gina. Either she gave me the wrong name, or I misunderstood her. But I was there on Sunday, 2/28. She sat toward the front at a table on the right side of the room. I feel bad to give such a low review, but no nail salon should employ such a poorly skilled tech. Maybe she just shouldn't do acrylic...
Read moreWe went to this location for 13 years with the same tech (Tan) and saw it go from great service to the worst service imaginable. The quality of the products I must say were the left over on the shelves of the supply company, it must have been highly discounted and Nail Art picked it up. On too many occasions to mention, the tips fell off, the gel color lifted and the sanitary conditions were deplorable. I never saw any tool sanitized or cleaned for the next customer which was a bit concerning and due to us being creatures of habit we continued to go there. Time management is unknown at this location and making an appointment means absolutely nothing. One sets an appointment because one wants to be taken care upon arrival. Well, that is unheard of here, you will either get a call to come in 15-30 later if you arrive “later” you will still have to wait no less than 15 minutes, (and they think this is a courtesy??). The times we arrived “on time” we STILL had to wait because he was taking care of walk ins When you address it with him, the minion who walks around with the phone in the back pocket makes comments that are unnecessary and uncalled for being that it has nothing to do with her, as she is not the tech, Tan is. The day before the next scheduled appointment we got a call from Tan (it took him all week to grow the courage) to say that “he didn’t think he had done anything wrong and perhaps we should find some other place that would do out nails better.” Well guess what…we did. It just a shame we waited so long to leave this thing called a nail salon. Ladies and gentlemen if you don’t mind the wait and wasting your valuable time waiting to be taken care of then this is the place for you. However if you treasure your time and have plans…save yourselves the aggravation and go find yourself a reputable nail salon. I mean it speaks volumes that the minions will only respond to the negative reviews and will not respond the positive ones with a simple “Thank you for your feedback”, they will always respond by saying “go across the street” because if I remember correctly, they are related. Classy you think?? NOT it is quite classless. Please do not bother to answer this one as I do not want to be affiliated with this place. Tan you were so right…It was time to find someone...
Read morewhen Jinny did my pedicure i loved it. she took her time and did not rush to try to get to the next person. she tried to make me comfortable and wanted me to relax which i appreciated because i wasnt feeling well and she helped me feel at ease. but when it came to my manicure i always have problems there. today i was with a woman that always seats with number five. at first it was fine till it came to the shaping. i told her i liked my nails the way they naturally are which is curved but i did want it to look nicer because both my ring fingers always naturally form into a square. she quickly went into it and my nails and when i came in my nails were long now theyre short which isnt what i wanted but i dealt with it till it came to doing the design of the french tip. it was basically rushed and the french tips were crooked. i am happy that i will only assume the owner because he always sits at the front in number 1 sent me to Cindy that fixed it and she did a nice job but it is really frustrating that most of the time i go in there to do my nails there is always something wrong. im also very shy to speak up so talking to the associate was nerve wracking for me since i was frustrated. i can say whenever someone does my feet im always happy and satisfied with it but i dont think i will be doing manicures there after this. i also do not like that every time i am there it takes three hours to do my hands and feet even if i set an appointmen especially when most of the time i do basic designs anyways like either a french tip or just one solid color. i understand rush hour happens and there are many walk-ins but i feel like it should be better kept tracked in my opinion but again i do understand things happens and short staff can also happen as well. again i do appreciate that the owner i believe again and Cindy tried to fix the issue but its just...
