Was charged a $1.30 charge for using a bank card. there are other places like gas stations and Habib marts that charge you these surcharges for using your debit card if your purchase is less than $5 but according to the woman at the counter today, they charge this fee to everyone no matter how much you spend if you use your card. Ok, fine but how about a sign letting you know this or an approval on the card machine? I thought maybe the cashier just wrung up the wrong price so I questioned it and was told they always charge this fee if you use your card. I was told that everyone is doing this now and I know that is bullshit. I go to many other liquor stores, gas stations, grocery stores all over Hillsborough and Pinellas county and this is the first one I've come across in a long time that does this for any purchase. There are a few others that only charge it if you spend less than $5. Their prices are ok but after the fee, it is more than i would pay anywhere else. I'm good with transparency but the cashier didn't want me to see my purchase amount. He wanted to tap my card on the card reader machine and he seemed a little surprised when I grabbed the card reader and turned it towards me so I could see what I was being charged before swiping my card. I don't like dishonesty, even if it is only $1.30. so no, I will not go back there. I don't like it when Habib marts short me on my change back on purchases. You know they do it intentionally because that shit adds up to a whole lot of untaxed extra income. I guarantee you the bank probably charges them 30 cents for that card purchase and they make a dollar on every single debit card purchase in their store. That's a hell of a lot of extra money. I just do not...
Read morethe sales associate(black female) was on a bathroom break when we got there, not a huge issue people are human, but they had hard tea beverages labeled at 1499. It was clear as day and I even made a mental note of it ,so we grab up two because the price was so good. We got the cash register she rang it up as 1899. We confirmed with her that it was not the right price and then it was labeled as 1499, she claimed that it was a distributor error. She went back to âverify the priceâ and brought back a freshly printed sticker of 1899 to prove the price was correct. My boyfriend went back to verify and she had ripped off the original tag and put an 1899 sticker to gaslight us , Then, when I confronted her about it, she made a passive aggressive comment about not lowering the price for my boyfriend But originally, we thought she was talking to somebody else on the phone, but the rude comments were towards us, We left without purchase and told her that if she didnât want to order of the original price that was labeled that was totally OK just donât gaslight. Into thinking weâre crazy. Losing a Sale over a four dollar discrepancy is Ludacris in my opinion Edit : the issue wasnât the price differential, the issue was your rude staff trying to make us look crazy as if they price always said 1899 and then talking to my boyfriend like he wasnât there was insane. Distributor or not they should have honored the labeled price in good faith to your...
Read moreI recently visited the Liquor Depot on Waters for the first time, and had an exceptional experience.
Helpful Staff: John, one of the employees, stood out. He assisted us with selecting a few bourbons to try. His knowledge and recommendations were spot-on. We explored some of the store pick bourbons, and agreed that the Elijah Craig small batch store pick was definitely worth the trip to the store.
Reasonable Prices: Liquor Depot surprised us with its fair pricing. The prices were close to MSRP, and the markup wasnât excessive like some other local stores.
Ownerâs Pride: John spoke highly of the storeâs owner. Itâs evident that the team takes pride in their selection and service.
Overall, Iâm impressed by Liquor Depot. If youâre a bourbon lover, donât miss out! Iâll definitely be returning for more...
