Oceano Elks Lodge #2504 — Attraction in Grover Beach

Stayed here 9 nights. We have previously had 3 motorhomes which had large holding tanks. We are down sizing and now have a 31' travel trailer with much smaller holding tanks. When making reservations we asked about a honey wagon, was one available. We were advised yes. Unfortunately, it appears there is only one that comes around to pump out RV tanks. Also quite unfortunately, they do not update their phone message nor return phone calls for service. Two calls were placed on one day. The message said the hours, they were closed Wednesdays, and calls would be returned. It was not Wednesday, phone calls were NEVER returned and we had a rather sever issue with a holding tank being full. Dont know about the rest if you, to disconnect from your site to go to the dump is a relatively simple task. But, to disconnect a travel trailer with slides, with manual leveling blocks hooking up the trailer, etc., is simply not a simple task. My husband is 82, with a heart problem, with a 3 way pacemaker, defibrillator, synthiator in his chest. So, we felt the easiest plan was to go to Walmart and buy a portable dump wagon. We did this and used it to relieve the levels on our holding tanks. Now, that was not the end of the issues, but enough said. We found the elks RV hosts , except one woman, to be very nice...

No Stars actually. This was the worst RV experience of my life. These park hosts should be running a concentration camp not a a campground. They change the rules as they go along ...even 2 hours before arrival when you're 2/3 of the way there. Upon being forced to grovel for our "Pre Reserved" space I was forced to revisit the same humiliating experience in front of my family the following day when these hosts decided to pour some salt in the wound. What a great place to stay when traveling in your Rv.The campgrounds are clean very well maintained and the camp host is fantastic.Had to dump my gray water and they have a tote for this.And when you fill it they will come get it and pull it over to the dump station with a golf cart.Is that a great service or what.The lodge is also great good food and good bar.Everyone is very friendly.You must visit them...
