Tai Hung Farm Poultry — Attraction in Sugar Land

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Bought once, and trashed the whole chicken upon getting home. So heres what happened: bought the live fresh chicken for $14. What i got in the bag was an old, thawed, cancerous chicken. It was very obvious that they swapped the fresh chicken with a defrosted one. Fresh cut chicken is supposed to be warm, chicken is a warm blooded animal and not everyone is a fool!! Saw a big clump of boils/tumor while cleaning around the internal organs. Trashed the whole thing right away!

So heres everything thats wrong with this place:

1. You pick the chicken at the back where the cages are, the guy takes it into a closed room. Comes out in 15 seconds with a dressed chicken in his hands. You have no clue whether the chicken he holds is the one you picked. So in my case, it was obviously swapped with an old diseased thawed bird.

2. In any place around the world, any such meat/poultry/fish market ALWAYS sells by weight. You pay by the lb or kg. Except these guys! This is the first place I have come across in my life where the price of every young chicken is flat $14 irrespective of which one you pick. Another reason why theres no way for you to make sure you are getting the bird that you picked.

3. Once the chicken is dressed, it is then taken into another closed room to be cut into peices. Again you cant see anything from the outside so you have no clue what is being done to it.

4. The bag is delivered to you at the front. The owner/cashier is very unwelcoming and does not treat you like a customer. But thats the least of the problems with this place.

Bought once,...

I have been buying in this place for years... but today I had a very bad experience... there is a new employee in front... who gives bad service... several customers complained about giving preference to other people and the waiting time was lengthened....in conclusion if you are of another race you have to wait.....when he gave me my order he gave it to me differently as I asked for it...which I told him that I explained to him several times as I wanted my order and who got annoyed...we are customers...

We will never bring our FFA chickens to this place again. The owner was very rude and charged us more to process our chickens than he did last week. When we asked why, he said he doesn't want our business. Besides the pricing, they do a sloppy job of cleaning. If a zero rating were an option, I...
