WINKD — Attraction in Silver Spring

I went here for my first ever set of lashes and will not be going back. Ultimately I was very disappointed because what I asked for is not even close to what I got and even though my tech was nice, she was rough at times. The lashes were also clumpy and the glue was so hard it felt like crust on my eye.

I’ve never had lashes before so I booked a hybrid set because I was going for a wispy semi-full cat eye look with spikes. I chose the booking option for any technician available and was scheduled with delicia @ambitionismajorofficial She was very nice but I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she let me know her stock was limited and she wouldn’t be able to do the look that I wanted with the spikes. I said that was fine as long as I could get a cat eye look. She showed me her page and I told her I didn’t like the super full look nor dramatic bottom lashes and that I wanted very subtle bottom lashes. (I’ll share the inspo pic vs what I got) But ultimately I feel like you shouldn’t be taking clients if you don’t have your materials fully stocked or at least figure out what look the client is wanting before they come all the way to the shop. And it seems like she only knows how to do one style because the lashes I got look like every other set on her page. The bottom lashes were hard and felt like sharp plastic on my face and were very dramatic. I then told her I didn’t like the bottom lashes and she said “to each their own” instead of offering to remove them or fix them. She didn’t have lash bath or anything due to the limited stock issue and again I don’t think she should have accepted my appointment if this was the case. And as the lashes shed they pulled out my natural lashes and some sections were so clumpy (I’ll show pictures of the glue on the lashes) that the glue was creating tension on my lashes that hurt so bad I took them all off. Went twice, once for a full set by Alicia who did amazing work and they stayed full for 3 weeks. Unfortunately I didn’t realize that she filled up booking quickly so when I went to schedule my refill, she was unavailable so I scheduled with Onike. Onike seems like a nice lady, but the professionalism is lacking, she showed up late to my appointment for one. She was supposed to just be filling in the gaps, but the entire time I was getting my lashes done her phone was going off nonstop, and she would stop to answer her phone every 10 seconds. I’m talking like multiple times within 2 minutes. It felt like she really wasn’t paying attention to where she placed the lashes. I felt like she answered more phone calls, and talked on the phone then she did my lashes. After I was “finished”, I struggled to get my eyes open with my eyelashes being glued together, but I just wanted to get it over with at that point, I paid her and went on my way. Happened to look in the mirror in my car and noticed that there were like four or five lashes placed in random spots, not coherent with the rest of them, couple of them had already started to flip . Over the span of four days half of my eye fell out and the other one was close behind. I ended up having to call Mary the owner, who extremely professional and kind, so much so to get me scheduled with Alicia so she could fix my lashes. Alicia fixed them and said to me the lashes were too heavy for my eyes, hence, why they were all drooping and flipping. She had to remove a bunch of them and refill, but they came out amazing. At first I really didn’t want to leave this review , instead I emailed privately to let them know how uncomfortable my experience was. But I never got a response, but I just don’t think it’s fair how expensive this is and the lack of luxury this place provides for its clients. If you normally get your lashes done a lot, and enjoy a calm, comfortable and relaxing experience DO NOT COME HERE. This place has soooo much potential, it’s so pretty and girly and pink. However the techs that work here are super unprofessional. I had SEVERE anxiety getting my lashes done here. I was here for almost 3 hours , and I asked for a volume set (paid for one as well and let’s be real this isn’t a cheap place) and it was the lightest set ever and in two days everything fell out. My techs name was Naveah. I’m sure she’s very talented maybe my lashes weren’t the easiest to do. But my actual problem was how LOUD she was talking and laughing with her co workers RIGHT IN MY EAR. Im not the best ant confronting so I sucked it up but after re thinking my experience i thought it was worth a shot to reach out to management but I see they could care less.All of the techs were doing this, which is fine talk to eachother but the lack of consideration for the client is insane. They all gossip, blast music , SCREAM in your ear. I had sooo much anxiety I couldn’t wait to get out of there. It felt like being in highschool. I was so excited to go here because of how cute it looked. I will literally never ever go back, however I do hope they get better customer service training because I know this place has potential...
