Awful at communicating with students. Not willing to work with you on required material. Must have the diction they ask for, meaning you must pay for the $150 book instead of a discounted one. Already owe so much for tuition. How could a young person afford these prices. When you call any of the academic offices they are no help and don’t give thorough answers. Their Moodle site to submit assignments is a mess. Make life easier and get a better platform. No one will explain anything or how to operate Moodle. I transferred and it is a horrible experience. Why the graduation rate isn’t too high. The campus itself is nice but what is aesthetics without helpful faculty? The parking is awful too. I literally have to stress out every time I have class. I get there an hour early too and constantly stressing about parking. Instantly puts me in a bad mood. Will never proudly say I went to this school. They don’t consider me a resident and I’ve been here for 2 years and have license from here. They are too strict with their residency rules and would rather a student suffer and ruin our lives with debt. Their residency rules are too personal and invade my privacy. All that should matter is I’m a working resident and live in a house in South Carolina. That’s all they need to know. Everything else is ridiculous and none of their business. Really am not enjoying my time here and you will never see me wear teal or rep this school. They don’t care about anything but money. Their faculty depends on my money to feed their children and put clothes on their backs. I am in debt to pay them. And they are not even the best at their job. Thanks Coastal for this...
Read moreI went to CCU for my freshmen year of college. The campus is gorgeous. Great living situations. The weather was awesome. The food on campus was terrible. When I left though they were in the process of making upgrades to the dinning facilities. The athletics are very strong as well. I met a lot of great people. The academic side of the university I was not happy with. I was one of 8 people who came in my freshmen year that transferred by the end of sophomore year to pursue a better academic situation. I was placed in college algebra even though I took Calculus in High School and go a 4 on the AP. After the first month or so I never went to class and got an A. People in that class were struggling with the basic concepts of math. Spanish one there was very easy as well, especially for not taking Spanish for three year. I also had to take a freshmen orientation class which I though was a waste of time because it doesn't teach you anything and if you showed up it was an A. The bio classes were okay, not great. A lot of the same things I did in high school just more detailed. There econ classes were actually very well done, better than my second universities classes. I was also worried about my job prospects after college. They didn't have a strong alumni base in my eyes any where for finance and accounting majors can...
Read moreI’m a student at Coastal and got multiple emails for 3 days saying my package was ready for pickup. Normally there is a long line but when I arrived to pick up my package between classes, there wasn’t a line. The process should have been quick as they normally are, however, they lost my package and took so long to try to find it that a line of at least 10 people had formed and were all taken care of before they informed me that they couldn’t find my package. I left my phone number in case they found it. They tried to tell me it was my fault they lost the package, saying I put the wrong address when I, in fact, did not, I’m sure of this because I triple checked my address beforehand. I finally got a call a week and a half later saying they found my package so I showed up, rang the bell for help, but no one was there to help me. I needed what I ordered for a class assignment and had to completely change what I was doing because of everything that happened. I definitely will be avoiding ever going back to this post office, I went twice after having to work it out with my class schedule and was...
