This was the surprise of my trip to Cape Arago. A great view of the lighthouse from the Northern side. At the start my goal was to get to a finger of the Yoakam Point and photograph the lighthouse and a heart shaped hole in Gregory point. There is no easy access to the lighthouse that I could find. Most of Gregory point is owned by the tribes and random access is discouraged.
I entered at the Yoakam point trailhead and proceeded north on the looped trail. Yoakam point slopes south so keeping north avoids most of the muddy trails. The trail through the forest is easy and interesting, but once you get near the cliffs Salal thickets are numerous. I followed a trail cut through one thicket and found a bench facing the lighthouse.
