One of my favorite coastal parks on the whole pacific coast. With easy access to town, the beach, and a nice campground, you should really try out this spot! We enjoyed bringing the kids to the playground at the overlook spot where you can see down to the beach and beyond. The campground has nice amenities with many different spot types to chose from. The beach access is nice, but BE WARY OF POT HOLES when you get down toy the farthest beach parking lot near the jetty.

Nice clean beach with miles of sand an a view of the lighthouse to the south!! North of the beach is coos bay jetty. There is a place to park by the jetty an their are caves an tide pools to explore during low tide! Some of these pictures are of the south bastendroff beach area past the upscale rv park!

Absolutely breathtaking view stunning Beach. What did my heart really good was that I was officially unable for the first time ever to pick up garbage on my way off the beach.. because I couldn't find any! That was such a heartwarming experience

Tent loop campsites are too close together, not enough privacy. Most of the time we were inadvertently looking into neighboring campsites and at night we could hear conversations going on two campsites over. The hosts do not maintain the bathrooms. The bathroom in the tent loop was poorly maintained, when we arrived one of the stalls had feces all over it and the other had a pool of water right in front of the toilet. The shower at the bathroom station near the parking lot at the entrance flooded. Doesn't seem like they care much since I read similar complaints that were posted two years ago. The lady driving around on her little go-cart seemed cranky. Asked where to find wood and was answered with a harsh tone as though we were annoying her. No one came through to clean the sites between campers so there was a lot of trash at our site when we arrived. We did a walk through before we left and picked it all up but my goodness. And to top it all off, there's a foghorn within earshot of the campground that goes off every 20 seconds. It drove me nuts when we first arrived. I eventually got used to it but wish I had known before booking this place. This was our first and last stay here. Would not recommend. Only reason I'm giving two stars is because it had a few redeeming qualities such as it's proximity to the beach and the tent loop had a sink for doing dishes...

Most of my reviews are on Yelp but they didn't have any entry for the camping facility associated with this park so I'm writing on G Plus. There were two showers. One worked well, the other didn't. Regardless, the door has a lock on it preventing both showers to be used simultaneously if you don't arrive at the right time and some has locked the door. Ok, whatever... The dogs running the park without leashes is a problem. Walking around and getting growled at and not sure if a stray is going to attack you isn't good. When they crap in your camp site at night and you track it into your camper, not cool. I was furious when this happened and I wrote a letter to the host with no response. The site was a mess as well, with cigarette butts, old tent material jammed in the bushes. It was truly the white trash mecca. If you want to live that way, that's fine, but don't provide a service to...

It is such a beautiful park. Unfortunately my stay was ruined by the only vicious goon of a camp host I have ever seen.. This host is in site 41 . She came up to me when I was enjoying the flora and fauna and accused me of trespassing on private property while I was a registered camper. I then learned she had harassed my 13 year old daughter in similar fashion at another area in the park. My daughter was in tears and was very shook up by the verbal assault. The final straw came on the last day of our stay when this maniac raced over to our car as we watched the sunset and started yelling at us to leave because we were in a day use area. When I asked what time the area closed she sneered, "6:17" I looked at my phone and it was 6:18. I told her that I'm going to turn her in and she got really snide and said Greg- or Craig- has her back. I never imagined that a park host could be so bile,...
