I would absolutely not recommend this RV park. They do not have enough parking. There is room for one small vehicle to be parked in front of the cottages. We were informed when making our reservation that they had ample overflow parking. In reality there is 4 spots and 2 spots more on the other side of the park. This is not enough! Multiple people are going to have more then one vehicle. This is what happed when we arrived! No parking anywhere! We towed a boat hours away from home and had no place to park it. When making the reservation we were lied to and told there was plenty of parking and the employee even went so far to say we could park the boat in front of the cottage. We had family members that stayed in a RV spot and desperately we parked the boat in the dirt/sand at there RV campsite. We were told we had to move the boat because it was on the grass. There was absolutely no grass. Maybe dead grass that was covered with dirt and sand at best. If you are staying in a RV camp site beware you will not be able to utilize most of the space. The staff will make you move any extra vehicles or boats even if you are in your designated spot. Customers want to use the RV camp site not look at dead grass. After bagging staff to find a resolution and not wanting to drive hours back home, we were given the option to park the boat in a parking lot detached from the main park with no lights or security. The next morning the license plate for the boat trailer was missing. We stayed in a vacation rental. The units floor was dirty. I found a lot of hair. The loft area was not unusable. The stairs are extremely steep and small. The bottom stair was broken, half attached and hoisted up with wooden blocks. The mattresses were very soft with no support and uncomfortable. We will not be back. When checking in was informed of a damage deposit of $150. The employee told me it falls right off upon leaving. I was not informed of any $150 fee when making the reservation. This is not a hold they actually charge your card. It does not come right off upon checkout! I called three days after checkout and was told by the same employee that told me it would “fall right off” that it takes time. She informed me, First housekeeping has to look at the room, then they have to OK it with management, then management has to OK it with accounting department, then she said who knows how long it’s gonna take your bank. In reality it took over a week after checking out for the business to issue the $150 damage...

UPDATED REVIEW: 07/14/2021 There are no more beach front tent sites. Where were not informed that the beach front site we reserved a year in advance was no longer a beach site. We were also charged with out our permission(a couple days before our trip they email me and stated that they were going to charge the card on file the morning of our trip. I called to inform them that we would be using a different card as the card they have on file was from last year but they didn’t answer and didn’t return my calls. Luckily we had money on that card. When I mentioned the situation the front desk said that he had to step away for his new puppy... and that’s why we couldn’t get ahold of the office) it was ridiculous. Total lack of professionalism and empathy. Each year the sites have gotten smaller and smaller and the price has only gone up. It does not make sense. The campsite staff said that they had to pull the campsites inward due to being over the state line, which I understand. However they very poorly executed the remodel of the tent beach sites. If you are to reserve now, they are all super close to each other with no privacy. This year we had to walk THROUGH someone site to get to ours. It made for a super uncomfortable experience. There is barely enough room for the fire pits they have and once you put your tent up you’re so close to the fire it’s a hazard! And forget about bringing two tents! It is very disheartening for me and my family as we have been coming to this resort for 10+ years and no will no longer be returning. It breaks my heart to not return but with the unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and lack of an actual beach front sites with space. I really do hope that they resolve these issues so that my family can return in the future.

Old review: I have been going here for 10+ years. Would recommend to anyone. It never lets you down. Best camping spots on the coast. I eagerly await each camping season, so I can come back here, home. Restrooms are always in good shape. Through the years they have only improved everything. For example the showers use to be paid by quarters and now it’s free when you rent your site. I love not having the hassle of remembering and getting a bunch of quarters for our stay. The office has pretty much whatever you would need camping wise and cute merch! Can’t wait to buy a hoddie this year. Thank you to oceanside for being a wonderful place to escape. I don’t know what I would do if you...

For the last couple years we had been going to this rv park. Always experienced hiccups but nothing bad and chalked it up to constant change in front office staff. Last year our family rented 4 cabins and two rv sites. This year we went in person to rent a spot for this Thanksgiving. We only live down the road, but wanted to ensure we got the spot we wanted so we went into the office. Talked with staff and pickked our spot for thanksgiving weekend. We thought all was good. Checked in Thanksgiving only to be told it was for 2023 not this year. We said "we had to pay extra to reserve the spot and now its not open until 2023 there must be a mistake"

Instead of the front office person going I am sorry lets see what we can do, it turned into a total blame game of you got an email you should have read it! After the fifth time of the rude customer service, I said enough what can we do.

We got a less than average spot but made the best of it. Our dog never left our side as he is from a long line of service dogs and well behaved as many dogs were roaming freely between sites - it did not matter as he is trained not to care.

We were in our RV by 10 pm (3 adults). The next morning we wanted to extend our stay only to be told there was a block on our account. I said what does that mean? "You were noisy and your dog was off the leash". No one ever said a word and after 5 times staying there in the past couple years with the same dog we now have a block on our account?

Our big family will no longer be staying there and all the friends who come to visit us in Charleston will no longer get a recommendation to stay there either. The corporate chain has lost its small town friendliness.

It felt punitative after we brought up the mistake. As I left the office I counted six dogs roamly freely being well behaved and amongst their camp but our account was...

Just spent a few days at Sun Outdoors Coos Bay, and I’m already planning my next trip. Beach access right from the property, minutes from some of the best state parks on the Oregon coast, and plenty of space to camp, RV, or stay in a cottage. Tide pools, hiking trails, ocean views, and all the salty air your lungs can handle. Whether you’re resetting solo or rolling in with the whole crew, this place is something special. #AndyFilmsAndHikes #hosted @Sun Outdoors

Stayed 5 nights, RV and tent sites. RV site for $117 per night. This park is not worth the money. When we pulled into our site there were several holes dug that they didn’t bother filling in and we all tripped and one of us broke a toe. Beer caps and litter were left on the ground. The sites are crammed together so no privacy. It’s super crowded and packed, and noisy. If you pay the money to have 1 of the only 3 RV sites with a partial view #31, 32, and 33, you’re next to the road everyone takes to the beach with cars and people going past loudly all hours, lots of intrusion, letting their dogs pee and poo all over your site. Same thing with the tent sites. The tent sites are pure sand, right on the road. Ok if you like sleeping in sand. The WiFi that you pay for is worthless. Also, With a family member suddenly terminally ill in the hospital and not expected to make it, i inquired about canceling PART of my reservation with 10 days until arrival. They could not even give me an amount that it would cost to cancel unless they actually hit the cancel button which would irreversibly cancel my entire reservation. Weird!! And true!! The owner responded below and is lying….THEY DID NOT OFFER to reschedule but rather said I wouldn’t be able to because it was part of a “locked” reservation. Watch out for their reservations policy. You’ll never get your money back if a family member is literally in the hospital dying. Which I did explain to them. They don’t care. They just want your money. Our family member did pass away the day before we arrived. Still, no mercy. My bad for paying $117 per night for RV and $68 for tent spot (in pure sand right behind RVs) when there are 3 other campgrounds right next door. I’m done!! See their response below and tell me it makes sense?

This park is excellent. My daughter and I ( along with two large -well behaved dogs)stayed for 10 days at the Oceanside Beachfront Resort. The spaces are large with picnic tables and fire pits. The showers are private and they have two laundries. You can hear the waves at night from anywhere in the park and it is literally steps to the beach. They have two huge dogs areas that I was able to let my two large dogs off leash to do there business with no issues. They even have poop bags if you forgot yours. I also had room on my rv site for a small run for the dogs. The location is minutes from the harbor and restaurants. We went crabbing a couple days from the docks and caught enough crab to bring a ice-chest full home. I had to contact the front desk a few times for random questions and information. They were very friendly and happy to help. It isn't a party spot, but I had a fire in the pit until midnight one night and didn't bother anyone. We extended our stay a few days and still didn't want to come home. ** Do bring a pressure regulator for your hose connection, the pressure is very high!!
