Salvadore Park for young children and families is a small paradise of swings, climbing areas, forts, and such. A GREAT time for especially little ones, which offers a Gazebo I imagine that is rented to host parties and such. As a tennis 🎾 complex there are Many courts and seems to have much play whenever I've been there. As for the Pickleball courts... there are two courts, North and South, that are reservation Only, meaning you go on line, often the day before to reserve the time slot of your choice and pay a small fee, currently around $6.00. NOTE: Early times slots are taken up quickly due to sunshine 🌞 issues for which there is NOT much shade, so reserve early. The courts have a small concrete wall between them that you can practice, volley against. The courts themselves are "alright" and need a little TLC, But the nets are Sturdy for game play, so no sag. The courts are enclosed by a fence to contain play BUT they are pretty tight, meaning if you have a particular serving style that really stands back, you don't really have the room to do so here. Also, when balls are lobbed to the back court you're again a bit limited in a good swing to counter, due to the fence being so close to the back court. All in all Salvadore Park is Great for families, tennis 🎾 enthusiasts, and for some pickleball...
Read moreReview for William H. Kerdyk Jr. Park (near Salvadore Tennis Center):
Tucked right next to the Salvadore Tennis Center, this beautiful neighborhood park is one of Coral Gables' hidden gems. William H. Kerdyk Jr. Park offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, with well-maintained green spaces, shaded walking paths, and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. I came here to perform for a birthday party The park is perfect for a morning stroll or an afternoon picnic under the trees. There are plenty of benches to sit and read, open grassy areas for kids to play or toss a frisbee, and even a few workout stations for fitness enthusiasts. It's clean, quiet, and safe — everything you’d hope for in a community park.
Being right next to the tennis center is a bonus, as you can often catch glimpses of players in action or enjoy the energy of a local match. Whether you're a Coral Gables resident or just visiting, this park is a refreshing spot to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.
Highly recommended for families, joggers, dog walkers, or anyone who appreciates a well-kept urban...
Read moreFirst played at this beautiful tennis facility in 2008 when I had a nice hit on a corner court. Since then it has been renovated with new courts in 2010 . It hosts the Junior Orange Bowl and lots of USTA league matches. I've played Best of Miami matches there as well. I would say singles play is ideal here as the courts are quite narrow between net posts for doubles play there are lots of delays retrieving tennis balls.
Lots of lessons and programs for kids and adults as many community tennis players prefer the clay hydra courts to the hard courts at the nearby Biltmore Hotel.
Reservations are done via RecTrac (software program) thru the City of Coral Gables. Residents get a discount.
Have you tried Pickle Ball?
