If you're coming to Corolla, you need to make plans to visit the Historic Corolla Park! So many activities in one location. See and climb to the top of the Currituck Lighthouse. Learn more about the history of founding people and the wildlife in the surrounding area. Tour Historic Whalehead Hunt Club. Walk, bike or just drive and park. Lots of walking paths to stroll. Go crabbing from one of many docks. So much to do!

Wonderful views of Currituck Sound complete with historic structures, free parking, air-up/air-down station, playground, amazingly nice restrooms, a free maritime museum and views of the beautiful Currituck Beach Lighthouse. We watched the sunset from the Corolla Island Bridge. Excellent opportunity to stretch your legs, walk the dog, enjoy the shade of spreading live oaks and contemplate the history all around you.

This is the place to be if you are looking to have a place to hangout until your place is ready for your stay. It's picturesque and nice by the water. You can set up a picnic and use the restrooms. There are some businesses nearby as well so you can fuel up if you wanted to. There is a lighthouse on the property that is cool to look at and a local maritime museum as well as a gazebo. Cheers!

I have been coming to the Whalehead Club and historic Corolla Park since before it was restored. This property and grounds is rich with history and amazing scenic views. This is absolutely a must from the bird sanctuary to the historic house. The grounds are beautiful and hosts a variety of events year round. Perfect for every type of Photography and great for picnics. The self guided tour of the house and is well worth the $7.00. Take a moment to stop in here at sunset or even sunrise and capture the beauty of the sound and house in all it's splendor. Friendly staff go in great detail of the house and history of the island from it's hunting days as well as guests and time of prohibition. With the first basement, elevator and pool of it's time on the island and use during the civil war, there is much to see and do. Make this a stop on your trip...

Went to the 4by4 beach, only complaint would be way too many police, u cant drive the length of it without seeing 2 people pulled over and 2 police just sitting, and writing tickets over trivial nonsense, people pay alot of money to vacation here, to feel safe I get it, but I got a speeding ticket for going 20, the cop even said it was an iffy ticket because u can go 30 with no people around but only 15 while people are on the beach, so if the just put the chill police there who only right tickets over major things it would be the perfect...

Highly recommend you take the tour of the historic house. The programs offered through the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife were nicely presented. We participated in the crabbing one. It was completely hands on. Great program for nearly all ages. Ours were ages 7, 9, 10 & 12. They all enjoyed it & adults wanted to participate too! Just be patient! The grounds are great for easy biking. There are picnic tables for enjoying a picnic lunch. The center also has ongoing videos in their theatre room perfect to enjoy on a day with not so...
