Coronado Beach is one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots in all of San Diego. From the soft, sparkling sand to the gentle ocean breeze, everything about this beach feels like a perfect coastal escape. The views are absolutely stunning, especially around sunset when the sky lights up in warm tones over the Pacific.

The beach is clean, spacious, and family-friendly, with plenty of room to relax, take a stroll, or set up for a full beach day. The iconic Hotel del Coronado in the background adds a classic charm, and the entire area has a relaxed, upscale vibe without feeling too crowded or commercial.

It’s also easy to access, with nearby parking and walkable spots to grab coffee or a bite to eat before or after your visit. Whether you’re looking to unwind, take photos, or just enjoy the sound of the waves, Coronado Beach is a must-visit when...

This beach is long, wide and perfect for taking long walks or playing games with friends and family. The open view is amazing because you can easily see everything around you without feeling crowded. There are free showers and restrooms which makes it really convenient after spending hours in the sand and ocean. The only downside is the limited parking. Most people park along the street if they can find a spot so it really depends on your luck. Overall it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. Families with kids will love how much space there is to run around. Bring snacks and spend the day here. Just be ready to look for parking and maybe arrive a bit earlier...

Coronado beach has beautiful views of Point Loma to the Northwest and Mexico, the strand, and the famous Hotel Del. The beach is sandy-white with restrooms (not the cleanest, as expected for a public beach) and showers for rinsing down. There are only 6 (I believe) firepits (hence minus 1 star) and on cooler weekends, they're occupied early on in the day for the evening, so come early!! No parking structure, but plenty of street parking and in the adjacent neighborhoods, which is worth the walk if you even viewing beautiful homes and varying architecture. Dog Beach is north of the firepits so don't be surprised if you encounter wet 4-legged pups...
