We were passing through Corsicana to visit the Pioneer Village next door to Jester Park. The park is simple, but quaint; tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.
The playground equipment is rather spaced out and I think they should have shade structures over them, but there is a nice pavillion and community pool nearby.
Overall, the park is spacious, and there are several Corsicana historical landmarks around the outskirts of the park, and a cemetery nearby. We didn't visit that, but I find it intriguing 😮 for next time. (We originally came to see the Pioneer Village but they weren't accepting credit card at the time, so I intend to plan a return trip 🌻 and when I do, I'll visit that cemetery to see what it's about.)

Read moreLife guards could be a bit nicer to people, especially the kids. Especially after listening to a kid as for a certain help and the lifeguard doesn’t even pat and I towards her and tells her to go ask the other one. The restrooms could use a little more cleaning. (But also us the people could help keeping it clean by making sure that the paper goes where it needs to go, flushing toilets. Etc)
Other than that, the pool area is clean. The atmosphere is nice… we had a good time. The chairs go by fast so I would recommend bringing a lawn chair just in case. Food is allowed and it’s $5 per person for entry. From what I saw speakers are allowed as well. And after a certain time they blow their whistles so the community can get out of the pool for 15 minutes. Go to shade hydrate do whatever as well as the lifeguard that are out on the heat. Watching over everyone...
Read moreHave friends who live on Park Ave across the street from the park. Very well manicured lawn with rolling hills. Plenty of picnic area, sunshine to be had, wild life to see and enjoy. Several big trees covering for shady place times and wildlife. I take my dog there and he really enjoys the park. I even saw a medium sized red fox there in the week early morning hours. Was a really nice surprise. There is a really nice basketball court and a nice new swimming pool and facilities. Have some coveted facilities for picnic groups as well. Plenty of parking available. Also close adjacent Pioneer Village and Lefty Frizzell Museum. Close for visiting for hometown history. Popularity has brought movie actors and crews here to shoot in the previous month. Nice places where people from all across the US...
