I recently had the pleasure of visiting Battery Point Lighthouse, and I can confidently say it was a hidden gem that left me in awe. Nestled along the stunning coastline, this lighthouse offers a captivating experience that is both serene and historic.

The picturesque views of the rugged cliffs and the vast expanse of the ocean were simply breathtaking. It was a peaceful escape from the bustling world, allowing me to soak in the serenity of the surroundings.

Battery Point Lighthouse is not only a feast for the eyes but also a haven for nature enthusiasts. The surrounding area is teeming with diverse wildlife, including seabirds and marine life. Walking along the shoreline and discovering tide pools filled with fascinating creatures added another layer of wonder to the experience.

I was impressed by the care and maintenance of the site. The pathways were well-maintained, ensuring a safe and enjoyable visit. The friendly and informative staff members added to the overall warmth and hospitality.

If you're seeking a tranquil and enriching experience, Battery Point Lighthouse should be on your must-visit list. Its natural beauty, rich history, and serene ambiance make it a perfect destination for nature lovers, history buffs, and anyone in search of a peaceful...

Beneath the ever-changing skies of Crescent City lies the Battery Point Lighthouse, a sentinel perched on the edge of the Pacific, guarding its secrets with weathered walls and whispers of the sea. Visiting at low tide is an otherworldly experience, the path to the island appearing like a bridge summoned by forces unknown. Once there, the air seems heavier, filled with the haunting melody of the whales’ song, carried by the wind from the vast ocean beyond. On lucky days, their silhouettes break the surface, as if drawn to the lighthouse’s enigmatic pull.

The tides themselves feel unnatural—strange currents swirl around the island, as though the water conspires to conceal something. And then there’s the lighthouse keeper, a mysterious and incredibly kind figure who greets visitors with a polite but knowing smile. Local lore speaks of treasure hidden somewhere on the property, rumored to have been buried long ago by smugglers or even pirates. The keeper’s cryptic comments and sidelong glances make you wonder: does he know where it is? Or is he its final guardian?

Battery Point isn’t just a lighthouse; it’s a portal to mysteries untold, where the sea and sky blend into a tale yet to be fully written. But beware—the ocean keeps her...

This was to be a highlight of our CA-1 to Crater Lake adventure, and it was in some aspects. Unfortunately there was a Pacific storm coming in {June 2017} and the combination of cold Pacific water and storm drizzle made for nasty weather.

The path to the Lighthouse was clear as the water level was low, but the long walk, wind, and coldness won out and we only took pictures from the edge of the parking lot.

Not to sure if persons with physical handicaps can do this short tour as the path toward the ocean part appears to be rocky and rough, and WILL get covered with several inches to feet of water when the high-tide rolls into the bay.

There are 'squirrels' all around the grounds and it seems that people have been feeding each as several came up to my leg looking for food. One should NOT feed these 'wild' animals as one has no idea when one will turn mean or carry a disease.

Crescent City boast that this Lighthouse as one of its most attractive tourist sites, but has done nothing to improve the access or the signage from US-101. One would hope that in the future it will build 'handicap' ramps that are above the high-water line so that those with physical disabilities, children, and seniors can...

The tour was full of great information and friendly and knowledgeable staff! They were welcoming to my kids but as a parent I definitely wouldn't take super young kids again (2 years and under). The gave 'treasure' to my kids so the place is pro-kid, but there's also a lot of historical items in small rooms that are breakable, so having my young kids there made me nervous. Kids that can follow directions and can hold still for a bit would absolutely love this experience though! We got to go up into the lighthouse and see how everything worked which was really cool but my husband who is claustrophobic got overheated, so if you suffer from that you might want to skip that portion of the tour lol. Not wheelchair accessible unfortunately either but totally understandable as to why. Overall 11 out of 10 for the experience! Very enjoyable and educational! Thank you guys for sharing this with my family!
