Paragon Coffee is hands down one of the best places I’ve discovered in Crescent City—and honestly, one of the best coffee spots I’ve visited anywhere. Tucked away in a charming suite on 3rd Street, this place feels like a true local treasure. From the moment you walk through the door, you can feel the love and intention behind everything they do—from the welcoming atmosphere to the quality of the coffee itself.
Let’s talk about the espresso—absolutely incredible. Smooth, bold, perfectly balanced, and rich without being bitter. You can tell they take their craft seriously. It’s rare to find espresso that’s this consistently excellent, and it honestly blew me away. Whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or a total coffee nerd, you’ll appreciate the care that goes into every cup here.
The baristas are super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about coffee and community. They’re happy to chat or let you relax—whatever your vibe is, you’ll feel at home. The interior is thoughtfully designed with cozy seating, beautiful lighting, and a calm, creative energy that makes it a great place to work, read, or just decompress.
Paragon Coffee isn’t just a café—it’s an experience. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to become a regular, not just because of the drinks (which are phenomenal), but because it genuinely feels like it was built with love and purpose. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’m already looking forward to my...
Read moreSimply wonderful. The owners, Bobbie and Jim, are just insanely nice. Focusing on local all the way, from their baked goods to their coffee, which is from noble coffee up in Ashland! So yummy.
I'm a remote work so internet in King, and they got it, fast and reliable, with a fantastic password! (You're welcome, but I think I should be thanking you all. )
The space is clean and roomy, it has a lot of hard surfaces, which is great for looks, but does tend to echo. This is my only negative thought, and for most this doesn't matter at all! (I was there for the soft opening, they might have more to do, including sounds dampening, to be fair)
Now, the coffee, the main event. They choose Noble coffee out of Ashland Oregon. While they don't have pour over's I've had their latte and espresso, and both were extremely good! Highly recommend.
But the quiche, oh my, the quiche... they bring in bake goods from local bakers. After reading the local bakers name, "barefoot baker," I got a lil concerned, then I had their quiche... if barefoot has a quiche in the store, you better buy a slice! It was the best thing I've eat in crescent city, No cap. It's really that good. Thanks barefoot.
So that's it, a cute store, nice owners, a goal to help locals, and serve good food and coffee. With a great...
Read moreFirst time in Crescent City as our kids had a retreat in the area and we decided to take some time to visit the area. In some ways a typical northern CA coastal town but still interesting. The town itself was a bit down on its luck with many properties and infrastructure neglected. So when we looked for a decent coffee shop we did not have high hopes since the local DB had a 4.7 rating.
We were pleasantly surprised, first it had very good coffee and espresso. Service was good, friendly and unpretentious. No one will accuse the baristas of being Latte Artists but you can’t fault the effort. WiFi was pretty good but I didn’t do a survey. I loved the orange highlights (fave color) and the decor was spot on.
I’m no Trish Rothgeb but this was a very good 3rd wave shop. Parking lot was being paved so street parking and not many tables so place can get “full” quickly. The only real negative was the minimal selection of pastries (local and very good) and that when heating them up they went overboard and went to overdone. Nothing lowering the temp...
