Very disappointed. We came from Missouri and ran across this spot that looked very interesting. We have our 8pd dog with us which of course we carry everywhere. Upon entering we were asked immediately if he had a vest or paperwork showing he was a service dog. We explained that no he wasn't a service animal but that also I don't think people are allowed to ask that. There was NOBODY in this museum at all!! We just wanted to look around and see what it was about and buy a magnet since that is our thing. The lady at the counter told us that someone had been bit by a dog so they no longer allow dogs and that she didn't want to get in trouble since the museum is owned by the city. Needless to say we told they lady to have a great day and we bought nothing and went on our way. My husband called the city and was told that we could leave our dog in the car because that's what most people do. Ummmmm not us! As we drove through the town I was shocked at how many places were empty and the casinos looked really old. So if you're traveling with a pup just skip Cripple...
Read moreMe and my wife were visiting Cripple Creek on the last day of our vacation lastThursday 9/3. The Heritage Center is great but I find myself a week later still talking about the rude lady working there. After this elderly couple explained they had breathing health issues that limited them from wearing a mask. She proceeded to escort them out the door being rude to the couple the whole time. The couple explained that it was a mandate and not law which because of health reasons they were exempt. She didn't care and after the couple couldn't take anymore of her rudeness, they walk out calling the worker a A-Hole. She could of said nothing and let the elderly couple walk back to their car to leave peacefully, but NO!!! She relentlessly chased them out screaming at them in the parking lot all the way back to their car. I have never seen someone working in a small town relying on tourism to keep the town in business treat customers this way. Normally I would never give a review, but it just...

We found one fenced dog area (smallish, but room enough for a potty break) near the parking lot closest the center, but at the opposite end of the parking lot from the center. Not sure if it was the large dog run or small dog run, but we had it to ourselves, so I guess it didn’t matter. It has a bench for the humans, plenty of poop bags & a clean trash can for bag disposal.
Since pups aren’t allowed inside, we went to each side of the center so the humans could take our photo with the fabulous view behind the center. Definitely...
