Update (BREAKFAST) 4 months after the last one: Being the Saltgrass fan I am I had to try their breakfast. While I wish I could have tried exactly what I ordered I have to admit it was pretty good. I ordered the 2 sausage breakfast tacos which was also suppose to come with side of fruit, I was really looking forward to the fruit as much as the tacos. My plate arrived with hash brown and egg in a yummy albeit maybe a bit crunchy homemade tortilla -no sausage. Also no fruit. I was told the fruit is no longer being served with that plate and advised they update the menu. They brought me a side of sausage to add to the tacos. My date ordered a mushroom omelette that was cooked to perfection and not brown from being overcooked, his came with a side of hash browns, as well. He was impressed. His pancakes were delicious. They had that authentic pancake flavor that one expects from a pancake. The service overall was not great, it was slow and being busy didn't seem to be a cause. The food seemed to take quite a while to come out too. I'll be back as I do want to taste their biscuits and gravy. I hope the service improves. Initial review: Pretty poor first impression. I called about 10 mins prior to arrival to confirm they were open. The lady on the phone seemed energetic and friendly with a resounding yes, and recited the hours untill 11pm, it was 9:30pm so we had time. We arrive to 4 other people who make a remark as we walk up that maybe WE will get some service. Because THEY had been waiting for awhile. Finally someone comes by and sits the THREE parties waiting. The service was at a snails pace. The food not the best, the broccoli cold, the fried shrimp NOT fresh hot and crispy, more like it had been sitting for awhile. The manager only seemed to care to replace the broccoli, but we had waited so long for our meal in the first place it wasn't worth the additional wait. There was one lady, pig tail braids that wa she most friendly and helpful, mirroring her work ethic would be advantageous. Disappointed overall. Definitely expected a higher degree of service and food. Don't plan on returning to this location

We had a party of 8. We waited 3 hours for our food. We watched a group of 10 people sit behind us and get their food first. Everyone else got their food before we did. We had a bunch of amazing appetizers. The waitress was great at keeping our drinks filled and was very kind. When the food finally came out the steaks and sides were cold. I had a baked potato that was hard halfway through. It was still crunchy. The country fried steak was gooey. We stayed only a little while after getting our food. Half of us got up and went to the car. When the waitress finally came to give us our bill I asked her if there was something wrong and if anything happened with our order? She very high pitched said no no no why do you ask? I didnt get a chance to answer when my 6 year old daughter stood up and said she didnt feel good after eating. She threw up in a bag while we stood there and shielded her from the other guests. The guys that paid the bill continued the conversation and the manager was brought to the table. He took a couple things off the bill.

Been craving a real, fresh, chicken fried steak. Stopped by Saltgrass, because it's usually a safe bet. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! Really gives off a cool vibe. We started with drinks, and fried mushrooms. They DO NOT have beer on tap. What a pisser! The bottled beer is InBev garbage. I decided on a Tito's Tea. The mixologist did a great job! Perfect balance. My wife got a Grilled Pineapple Margarita. It was great, too! The mushrooms were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. When the Chicken Fried Steaks arrived, it was obvious they're frozen. It tastes like it too. We were starving, so I ate mine. My wife couldn't finish hers. The gravy tasted off, too. Our server was really great though! Attentive and friendly. Although I was disappointed in the CFS, I should've known better. Colorado can't cook anything that's not out of a Sysco truck.

I really wanted to give this store my usual 4 or 5 stars but unfortunately it wasn’t even close. The restaurant wasn’t even half full & a lot of staff could be seen on the floor yet there was several parties that needed to be seated. We were 3rd in line & waited a solid 5 minutes before someone show up to start seating us. Our server appeared relatively quickly & took our drink order. This is where the whole lunch went downhill. A new server brought our drinks & proceed to turn 2 of the 3 all over the table, my phone, my purse & my lap. She was very apologetic & started cleaning up. The main/training server moved us to another table, promised a rag so I could clean up my phone, purse & pants along with fresh drinks. 10 minutes later the drinks showed up but no rag to clean up my purse. By that time I had used my napkin for clean up. I requested a fresh napkin which never appeared. After we placed our food order it took a bit for our salads to show up but the main course was served at least 30 minutes after ordering and to top it off, it was just luke warm. Anxious to return to the casino for a bit before to returning to Colorado Springs, we requested our bills from the main server. She stood at the kiosk/register for 10 minutes trying to take care of our meals & they were simple and straightforward! And the icing on the cake was not even a mention of any type of compensation for the drinks spilled on me, my phone & my purse. I probably wouldn’t have accepted it, but an offer would’ve been nice. All in all, I think a 3 star is pretty generous. What should have been a 45 minute to 1 hour meal ended up being 1.5 hours. I hope that this was a bad day & not indicative of the level of service & food at this...

Been going here about once a month since it's opening here in CC. Before summer it was great! Service, food, and hospitality all great! Now this place is on it's way downhill FAST! When we walked in all booths were empty but we had to wait for a booth cause all were dirty. 4 waitresses on staff and the place was pretty empty. Fried mushrooms were and have been STILL bagged. When they first opened they were hand battered and DELICIOUS! Now it's bagged crap! Excuse is, it takes too long to bread the mushrooms so to basically cut corners, they buy bagged now. Thing is they WERE the best fried mushrooms anywhere locally. This is the START of a place failing. When they have to cut corners and not think about quality. So hire someone to be JUST on apps. Next the waitresses asked us for refills but never brought them. Only checked on us once the entire time. When our food FINALLY arrived about 45 minutes later my husband was missing his biscuits and gravy along with his egg dish. We told the guy who brought our food but they NEVER brought it nor did they ask about it or apologize that it never came. Thank goodness we weren't charged for it. Then we had to stare at the waitress as we waited another 15 minutes for our check as she cleared the table right across from us knowing we were ready to go! Back when we first started going, we had GREAT experiences and amazing service and food. Now.... it's all going downhill fast. I predict this place failing before next summer if this kind of service continues. Bring back Carla! She had that place...
