We just had a very disconcerting, uncomfortable experience at the facility. We went into the store to discuss options for transforming our yard from all grass to more drought tolerant landscape. We have some constraints. We were assigned a staff member who was neither friendly or welcoming and didn’t even introduce herself after we did our introductions. She neither smiled or said anything, waiting on us to state our business. She responded to our questions in monosyllables and did offer a couple of options which weren’t workable under our constraints. We realized there was not going to be a simple solution but the person made us feel so distinctly uncomfortable, instead of asking questions about some other drought tolerant plant options we just decided to leave. If we could have just had a chat with someone about the pros and cons of various options, that would have been welcome, even if none came to fruition. But 5 minutes with this person was so off putting I just wanted to get out of there. Love the nursery, but will go somewhere else. I would just like to talk to a real human being who likes people, knows how to converse, ask questions and deal with people who stated they needed help as we aren’t gardeners. I might buy some plants there but will never ask for help again. Worst customer service experience I have had anywhere in...
Read moreI was so excited to take my residents here for our Garden Club lovers and just the ones who wanted to get out, socialize and have great food… sadly, this didn’t not happen. Yes the costs are VERY high, but think of the area you, plus it is beautifully laid out so the “garden” part is not the issue… The BIG issue is the cafe. We RSVP more than 24hrs in advance a table so the cafe knows am we are coming (we didn’t have to do this). Our table was ready, but after we ordered we waited close to 40minutes for our food to only be told, “I haven’t put in the order yet.” What?! Everyone else that walked in got their food/drinks/pastries no problem. The server told us that he was being nice by taking our order at the table, ok no problem, thank you but keep in mind, I have 70,80, and 90 yr olds with me in walkers so probably best for them not to stand in line to order, plus, if I had known I would of been happy to stand in line for them and place orders and bring to them, it was my first time there too. I got waters for my residents and talking to them they agreed we should cancel and leave, so that is what we did. Horrible service and you should NEVER talk back to a senior citizen that’s been sitting in the sun and hungry. The male server looked puzzled and confused the entire time so hope he gets help soon or more training on...
Read moreI have been here twice. Both times everyone on staff was friendly and the plants looked beautiful, so that's the positives. The negatives are that prices are pretty steep. I paid them without complaint the first time because I trusted things were better quality than elsewhere. I had a few iffy ones when I transplanted them but chalked it up to chance. Today I bought a $50!!! rose plant which I was totally not expecting price-wise. I kept debating on whether or not to get it because I drove 40 minutes out there specifically for roses. I couldn't afford my plan once I saw the price so I was going to just not get any, but at the last second I decided to go with just one of them. I brought it home and planted it only an hour later and the roots were so tiny that the soil ball completely came to pieces when removing it from the pot. This bush needed to grow a lot more before it was ready to unpot. Any time this happens, there are pieces of the roots that tear in the soil that falls apart and it is always a gamble of how much damage you did. The roots were only maybe 3-4 inches long on what I was able to get in the ground so I don't have very high hopes. I really expected to have a flawless transplant at that price and now I'm so mad at myself...
