Open space along the riverfront with dog park, playground, biking trail, skatepark nearby, and walkway that takes you underneath the Centennial bridge. It’s usually pretty quiet and secluded down here. You can easily find a place to park and there’s shelters with tables for a picnic or similar informal gathering.

This certainly isn’t one of the nicest parks in the city. I personally think they should plant more trees in the open areas and turn it into a riverfront forest. Maybe adding in a second playground would be interesting too. But then again, this whole area does flood pretty often, so I could see why not much is done down here unfortunately.

Perhaps a flood...

This is a great place to watch the fireworks displays for the Red, White and Boom! or whenever the Riverbandits at Modern Woodman Park shoot them off after a game. There is also parks for the kids to play on, a spray park for you to get wet on hot days, a dog park for the furry members of the family, a skate park for those with wheels, picnic tables, a gazebo here and there, fishing off the wall has been known to net a few something's, a bit of a boardwalk that will take you along the scenic Mississippi River to the band shell behind the ballpark...and any number of events pop up behind and between there and the Freight house Farmer's...

Perhaps a flood wall instead?

So this is a combination review of the river view trail and parks from Veterans memorial to sculpture park, approximately 4 miles. Nice views of river but as with many metro areas, there is a vagrancey issue at multiple parts of the trail. Trash, graffiti and loitering were present at same. From a tourists perspective, this is not a destination area and I cut my visit short as a result of same. I had full bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming. All bathrooms were closed for the season. Parking was plentiful and large enough for any size rig or RV.
