Modern Woodmen Park — Attraction in Davenport

Have been here before over the past 3 decades, and had always thought the ballpark operations were inferior to my local A team ballpark in cedar rapids. But I have to share all the things that have gone wrong in my one hour I've been in this ballpark on a Sunday afternoon. 1. Parking attendant credit card reader malfunction (90 second delay), 2. Concession card reader had to be reset (3 minute delay), 3. they put me in upper top corner of section (at my request) but the edge seat had no right arm rest. 4. Seated in front of hard liquor vendor and listening to his radio squack and trash lid slammed down as he recycles his cans. There is a light crowd here fortunately so this is intermittent. 5. Got chicken tender basket, long line despite low attendance, had to wait five minutes for my tenders and had to holler at them to not give them to a customer who had just paid. You all are crazy or never been to another minor league park to say this is the "best park in minor leagues". I mean, it is unique for a minor league park to have amusement rides, but there are one key thing that kind of made this park terrible for us for the first time visiting.

Expect 30+ min lines to get any food or drinks in the parks. I don't think it's a "they can't hire enough people" issue, because there were plenty of staff just sitting around and doing pretty much nothing.

They literally only had one entrance into the park. For a perm this size, I would expect at least 2-3 ways to get in/out of the park.

My family has always loved going to the Modern Woodman Park!! My dad worked for Modern Woodman for 42 years and they are the best memories I have with family and fun. Modern Woodman would have office parties, steak fries, family nights and special prices for the family to go. Every year for several years, dad and mom would take the whole family as my choice of locations for my June birthday, which fell close to one of the special June events!! ❤ This year my dad passed in January and today was my first time at the park without him along.
