Very nice little park, so much traffic going by since its next to the highway but i fished and relaxed a bit. felt very safe with the state trooper that parked randomly there 👍. in the rainy season this park is way better to fish for snook. since its a dam, when it rains it automatically opens up and dumps water into the canal, this is when the snook come looking for little freshwater fish that get dumped into the canal. yes this canal runs all the way from the everglades and turns into saltwater on the otherside of the dam. so fishing on the east side of the dam will give you saltwater fish and then in the west side of the dam is freshwater. hope this helps any fishermen and...

If you cast far out into the main channel and bottom fish there's a ledge and you will get snagged. Fish a shiner or other bait under a cork only....
