It says, describe your own feelings regarding this park. I grew up in this park, along with many of my friends growing up. I first saw it in 1949 when I was five years old. Levagood was a WWI war hero, and I think he was from Dearborn. They had, what we thought was, a huge granite boulder boulder. This has since then has been moved to a lower position on the other side of the road. When we were kids it had a dedication plaque on it and we all thought Officer Levagood was buried under it. We were really little then and we would climb the boulder and try to get to the top, I think I was the first. The Horseshoe had an immense flagpole in its center and the Park Attendent would raise the American Flag every morning and take it down every evening at dusk. Sometimes they would have someone playing Taps and it was all so memorable I gave us goosebumps. The Boy Scouts would bivoac at the bottom of the hill every summer and build a huge bonfire on a big cement circle made just for that. It was an exciting time to watch the scouts, all much older than us, and see their skills with axes and tools during the days they were camped in the Park. Darn, this is sure getting long, and probably boring to those who never experienced it, so I'm going to stop. Unless there's another request for history, lol. All & all I love this Park....
Read moreLevagood Park’s swimming pool is a fantastic spot for families, especially if safety and cleanliness are top priorities. The pool itself is incredibly clean—both the water and surrounding areas are well-maintained, which gives you peace of mind while your kids enjoy the water.
One of the most reassuring aspects is the number of lifeguards on duty. There are plenty of lifeguards constantly monitoring the pool, ensuring that everyone is safe and following the rules. Whether your child is a strong swimmer or just learning, you can feel confident that they’re in good hands.
The overall atmosphere is inviting, and it’s clear that the staff takes pride in keeping the facilities in top shape. It’s a great spot for families who want to enjoy a safe, clean, and well-supervised...
Read moreMy experiences with this Dearborn park have been horrible . The staff is racist and rude . They make up their own "laws". They are anti Muslim At this park , every other Dearborn pool or water park lets people wear cotton t shirts . They ask young women in scarfs to go inside the locker room and take their cloths off to make sure they have swim suits on underneath , even if they are not going to swim . It's like an interrogation walking into that place . It's Dearborn tax payer dollars that are operatoring that location and its employees . The lifeguards are disrespectful and unprofessional as are the supervisors . Stay away from This park only due to the harrassment you...
