Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Dearborn

Went back for the first time since COVID and this place is awful. Very reduced seating and a cold dirty atmosphere. Received 2 free bagels with rewards program. They refused to toast them. I still don't understand the reasoning behind why they can slice, but not toast rewards program bagels. I bought a cream cheese to eat them at the store and then couldn't because they wouldn't toast them. We leave, only to realize the guy charged us for the 2 free bagels. We drive back get the refund and I also return the cream cheese because at this point, I'm done. Why won't a bagel place toast the bagels they have? We purchased a sandwich and 2 drinks and they wouldn't toast the free bagels?? And they charged me for those too! We also got the Nova Lox bagel, which we used to love and we see that it has been stripped down. Instead of cream cheese, salmon, capers, onion and tomato on each side of the bagel served open faced, it's half of that on one side of the bagel with the plain side on top like a sandwich. Food is overpriced and they're pop machine is broken. Editing my 4 star review to a 1 star. Most of the employees are very nice, but the restaurant could use an upgrade. Ceiling seems to have major water damage with very noticeable holes and the restaurant itself is pretty beat up and dirty. It makes eating inside not a great experience. The food is also hit or miss. Asking for a toasted bagel will sometimes get you a charcoal brick. I gave a 3 for my overall experience over the last couple years. Generally everything is pretty good. Today, maybe because the ac wasn't working they seemed to be messing up a bunch of orders. I ordered a toasted pretzel bagel with plain cream cheese for my son and an opened face everything bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese and smoked salmon. That way I have more smoked salmon, which I pay extra for each time. They didn't have it open faced, which was an easy fix. We head out and my son starts to eat his food in the car. He then tells me that he thinks they put peanut butter on his bagel. I'm thinking he's wrong and stop the car to look. It looks like they sat his bagel down on peanut butter because it was on the bottom of his bagel! I had to take it from him because he's allergic to tree nuts and wasn't sure if it was peanut butter or a different tree nut butter or cream cheese. He didn't want to go back because he said it took too long already. Thankfully he didn't start to have a reaction. He was sad because he said the bagel was really good. I called to just make them aware but no one ever answered. I understand mistakes happen but allergies are very serious. Maybe more education on how to properly handle foods is needed.

I've visited this location for months to pick up bagels and food for conference meetings and for breakfast for a few coworkers. I've noticed that within two months the entire location has just gone to the dirt. Starting off, the parking lot was horrible, there was a lot of standing water that didn't show how bad it really was, but it was like a bomb went off. I came in around 9: 20am on a Friday before work to pick up bagels and a few sandwiches before for a conference around 10:30am. As soon as I entered the building I witnessed a manager yelling at the other workers and even insulting the customers. I got a bagel box and seven sandwiches. I didn't even get the correct ones I ordered. It took the lady around 45 minutes to make just the sandwiches and I ended up late for work because of this. The manager, I think her name was Ronduh, older lady with long black-brown hair, I'm not 100% sure, but how she was treating people was unacceptable, especially how she was treating her coworkers. The lady was also the person who prepared my order, resulting in me being late for the meeting at work. I unfortunately will not be purchasing anything in the future from this location.
