AMC CLASSIC Decatur 10 — Attraction in Decatur

10/2022 AMC recently increased their concession prices significantly . We’ve been taking my dad to the movies all year and it has always been $32 for a #1 and #2 combo. It’s now $40 for the exact same two combos. That’s a huge price increase. The staff are always very friendly here and work efficiently getting the food orders ready quickly. Yes, the screens and seats do need upgraded and this location has a very strong moist or mildew smell in most of the auditoriums. Like every other theater in the world, pricing for food is pretty outrageous but there are free refills and the popcorn is always freshly made. *12/5/2022 in theater 4 watching Violent Night it was FREEZING. The heat was definitely not on and it made for a very uncomfortable experience during the entire movie. *12/25/2023 in theater 4 we were the first ones there to see Aquaman at 10am and the floor was very sticky and disgusting with food all over. Had NOT been cleaned. The girl behind the popcorn counter had an attitude probably bc of having to work on Christmas. 3/2024 AMC changed their popcorn and drink combos. They increased the price and added candy into the combo. Basically charging us more and forcing candy on everyone. It usually is cheaper to buy the drinks and popcorn separately...

Man real disappointed here. Haven't been to a movie in about 5 + years. Was pretty excited, only to have expectations shot down quickly. First off, had a gift card and called the day before to ask if the card needed to be used online to get tickets or if I could use it at the gate upon arrival. Was told it was fine to use it when you got to gate. Got to gate and they said we had to do it online. The employee went to ask the manager, came back and said what I was told was not accurate. Wish they could've maybe helped us out and did it on a computer for us (maybe) but no, it's on us. So I'll go ahead and pay out of pocket. Walk into theatre and the aroma smells of worn out stench, close to a wet dog smell. Needless to say, I'll finish the movie, and move on. Until renovations happen and their service gets professional, I won't be back. Surrounding areas have a better value and a movie theatre feel. Sorry, hate to be so rude, but I had...

Just Went to AMC Theater Decatur. Was with a friend payed for the new Venum movie.I bought my ticket. My friend had $2 and some change on gift card and wanted to pay cash for difference the person at register was new and spent 30 trying to enter into computer finally got his manager. They had us in 2 different theaters we asked the people how long the movie had been on and were told 10 minutes. Went back to casher with problem and were told we could wait until next digital movie or pay an extra $3:80 for 3D. Explained it was not our fault we missed movie let us into 3D. Were told not without another $3.80. Asked for money back. I was told because I paid cash would refund cash. But manager Isaac refunded us both with gift cards.
