Not what was expected at all. I've been to one of those before and it was worth the 5 star rating. THIS ONE ISN'T AT ALL. Waitstaff only talk to you once about a drink. They sit behind you, eat, and roll silverware which looks like it needs washed a couple more times due to stains, waterspots, or someone not knowing how to wash them correctly ans sanitary wise. The owner obviously doesn't care bout you till you pay. Then you get a hello, takes your card, apologizes because her dinky card machine runs out of paper, and then says thank you. Never once asked about anything at all. Sushi is fine. You can tell the old food is mixed with the new food if you walk in on the between hours. They post postit notes on the glass for dinner items so you dont eat them till dinner. Never once did I eat dinner but sure got charged the $15 including drink for dinner. I should have just walked out instead. It's not worth the money, travel time for me, or the gas to even think bout ever going back or recommending anyone. One man obviously spit something up in the garbage can while I was eating which made me sick period while I was seated at a table. Watched another man set out food with his bare hands, obviously not knowing if this individual even washed his hands before touching it. No thank you. I thought health code inspectiins and rules meant using food preparation gloves at all times including when putting food out. Thank god the sushi man was wearing them. I mean in Illinois we had food safety classes, videos, and instruction manuals that teach this sort of thing. There isn't one business in this state that doesn't know that and even fast food restaurants are required to use them. Come on now, for a middle aged female business owner you should know this by now. If not I think you need a surprise inspection in Decatur because you can get shut down for that. Please, spare your time, your money, and your effort into going here. It's not worth the inflated price for 2 star and I'm being nice on that, kind of food, waitstaff that obviously are working for far less than minimum and look like there scared to death of customers, not mention probably the owner itself. Don't put your money in an...
Read moreMy husband , kid and I went and it was our first time . My son is 4 and wanted sushi we had only been there for 20/30 min at the time when he found a piece of hair in his food, which he pointed out to me. I was disappointed cause I love buffets. When we told the manager she kept examining it as if we were lying and said none of the cooks had hair and that it could’ve came from the wind … it was unprofessional. She gave us 20% off for an almost $40 meal. Which was only $7 off lol it was a joke the whole place is. The food was NOT hot everything was throwing me off, I’m pregnant and I could barely eat even after the hair incident.
P.s We are an African American family and it just felt like they were not trying to accommodate us . Like they thought we were lying about finding hair on our sushi , which my husband stated he grabbed from the back of the options at the...
Read moreI won't lie. Despite this restaurant being local for me, I'll make a drive to Springfield first if I'm REALLY craving a good Chinese buffet. This one is simply 'ok'. The selection isn't too varied, & it never changes. If you get there right at opening, it's fresh, & hot. Anytime after that, you're spinning the wheel of chance. I've gone right before a dinner switch before, when you'd THINK it would be fresh. Nope! Sweet & sour chicken chunks so dried out, they were like jerky. Literally made me sick to my stomach after. The service typically is fantastic. The food just mediocre. But it's not as pricey as the Springfield buffet, so there's that...and they're definitely a step up from the one that used to be on Pershing. I can see why they closed that one down. It was terrible all...
