Five Below — Attraction in Decatur

A good place to get some Christmas gifts for my 3-year-old son. He's hard on toys and breaks them a lot! I usually get him inexpensive toys so I won't feel so bad when he breaks them. This store is perfect for that. They also have some cute home decor, storage items, and other trendy knick-knacks. Not all things are a good deal here though! They jack up the prices of their make-up. The same products from Wet-N-Wild are like $2 or $3 less expensive at Walmart. And beware of some of their "tech" items. They tend to only work for a couple of days and then stop working for no apparent reason. I bought my toddler wireless\wired headphones and they last about 3 weeks. I was just trying to see if he would like wearing headphones with his tablet, so I guess they served their purpose. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel like the selection isn't as great at the Decatur location as it is in surrounding cities though. But you can shop online, which is a great option if you wanna buy something that's never in stock at your local store! My husband and I were in the checkout line. There was a family in front of us being wrung up. After about a minute waiting another employee apparently was trying to get our attention to let us know she could help us. My husband and I were talking to each other and didn’t hear her. The family in front of us turned around and let us know that another employee was ready for us but by that time that employee was quickly walking out the door. I’m sorry we didn’t hear her but a professional employee wouldn’t just give up and especially so easy. And finally when it was our turn to check out that employee acted like she’d rather be dead than ring us up. This all took place on 6/12/2023 at 6:35pm. For a store that's generally aimed at pre-teens to young adults, it's great. The range of items that they sell for the $5 and under price point is pretty awesome. I've routinely shopped here for kids' birthday gifts, new chargers for our phones, headphones for all the members of our family, puppy clothes for our little fur baby who doesn't have much fur, towels, outdoor toys, books, and t-shirts! That doesn't even include the vast array of other products that they carry every day. I'd love to give it 4 1/2 stars, but sadly there is no option for that.
