We went to this pool at the last minute because Glenlake pool was PACKED. I really enjoyed myself here. It was WAY less crowded than Glenlake and I counted at least 3 lifeguards. The head lifeguard really knew what he was doing and kept a great eye on everyone. He was very nice and knew several of the children by name. The pool area was underwhelming at first - I think it's an older pool and just doesn't seem as bright and new BUT give it a chance. It has a zero-entry (or "beach entry") area for the little ones and anyone who just wants to wade and there is a splash fountain in that area. Then it gets gradually deeper and maxes out at 4 ft 6 in at the deep end. There are stairs in the 2 feet area and ledges to sit/climb on build in some of the sides. There are at least 3 picnic tables and there are 2 MASSIVE umbrellas that look like circus tent tops. They need a good scrub but are nice for shade. Lots of lounge chairs. They have life jackets to borrow.
TL;DR - Not as flashy or new as some pools but definitely worth a try if you want to...

I walked pass the park about an hour or so later and they had filled so many lawn bags and were still working. Kudos to the Decatur High School kids for going out to make...
