What an awesome little theater! I love that this place is community-supported and oriented. The person manning the ticket sales and concessions was kind enough to explain to us that they have local sponsors and volunteers take care of tickets, etc. They also serve as a platform for a local theater group and short films by Maine directors, etc.
There are two rooms showing films; we were in the smaller one. There was only one other couple at 6:30 on a Monday evening so it felt like a private showing. Price could not be beat...$7 per ticket for the movie. Popcorn was also cheap. It's definitely a low-risk way to see a movie you're not too sure is worth it, like the latest Exorcist movie (not very good at all).

Read moreI would say this is your average small town movie theater and they do a pretty good job of delivering service based on what they have to work with here. The building is old, but historic and pretty reasonably updated. The screen was a little small and the sound quality was okay. I always like to support the small theaters as opposed to the big chains, so these trade-offs were okay to me. However, the staff demanded that patrons wear masks.. yet 90% of people took these masks off once inside the movie and these stayed off the entire time. What is the point of this? Your chance of catching Covid while vaccinated is about 1 in 5,000. This ridiculous farce that neither respected your choice on mask wearing nor actually enforced their own rules ruined my experience. I am sorry to say I will stay clear of this theater until they revise their mask...
Read moreElora began her journey with this Theatre when she was just 7 yrs old. During her 8 year journey, she was blessed with forever friends and some of her fondest memories. During those years, she learned important life lessons about commitment, community service, and the joy of participating in a family-like environment. She learned the taste (and smell) of THE BEST popcorn, and how to perform on a live stage. Though the stages and audiences Elora now performs for are much larger - they will never be better than this theatre’s - because the magic and closeness such a local jewel 🎭 fosters simply can’t be beat. The area is blessed to have such a gift: the great selection of affordable movies, the variety of fantastic local family-friendly shows, and the best fresh popped popcorn and refreshments - all housed in a beautiful space. We miss you,...
