If you've ever wanted to take a super relaxing walk at a park (especially with your partner!), Hurd Park is the place to do it. This park is a beautiful place to hang out, and even more beautiful to take your prom date! The luscious greenery and rivers make this place super fun to take kids to, as well. During autumn, the colors are bright and vibrant, and that makes for incredible images, too!
I really wish I had brought my camera to this place in the Spring: that's when the cherry blossoms come out, and you'll feel like you're in paradise. For that reason alone, the park has become extremely popular for people of all ages. There is no other experience like seeing Hurd Park during all four seasons.
From the peaceful ambiance to the historical statues and other landmarks, this park can entertain anyone for hours. These qualities also make it an especially nice date location with your partner.

The design of this park to have these trees follow the curve of the stream was absolutely spellbinding! From the moment we saw it we had to stop and park. ( need better parking though) One off those great times I feel I truly discovered something even though others obviously had been here. (Now I know Columbus felt). Seems like only 2 parking spaces though and no parking in front on Route 46. Edit again. May 13th And it appears that the cherry blossoms are done for the year. See my most recent picture. There seems to be a very short period of time here maybe 3 days, in which they bloom. This can make it very difficult for those that work and have to drive a long way to get here. But we'll try again next year. Our first encounter of this park was completely accidental and it just happened to be during peak blooming time. So now it's a constant challenge for us to get here at the right time...
Read moreWhat a lovely park in Dover and during the spring, the cherry blossoms align a small river -- bringing many visitors to the location. To highlight a few key spots, there is a larger river for fishing, a veteran's memorial, small bridges to cross to the other side and various flower/plant species. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because the parking lot is ridiculously small for the size...
