We went there as a part of a group dinner, 6 people in the group. They kept the light inside the restaurant so dim that it was hard to read the menu. They offered complementary table bread. Which was alright. The group ordered two pitchers of sangria: cranberry and berry & mint. I didn't drink but everyone in the group seemed pleased.
For appetizers we ordered lobster bisque soup. Others ordered tomato burrata, salad, and grilled octopus 🐙. Grilled octopus seemed to be the winner among appetizers as everyone shared it. I didn't eat it as it came with chorizo and I always avoid porky BS. Our lobster bisque soup was cold, barely 2-3 small pieces of lobster, runny like water and lacked seasoning. I brought my bottle of tapatio with me. Adding tapatio to the soup made it tolerable 😠
For entree I ordered fra Diablo, hubby ordered seafood fra Diavlo, others ordered lamb short ribs risotto, matador steak, mussels marinieres, and pappardelle. My shrimp was definitely not spicy and salty. 😖 It was salty to the point that I couldn't add tapatio to make it spicy. Hubby's seafood lacked seasoning, risotto was tasteless, pappardelle was rather not edible, steak was less than desirable and mussels were ok.
For dessert, a slice of strawberry cream cheese cake and a slice of tiramisu cake was ordered. This the first time I came across a slice of tiramisu which didn't have lady finger cookies!!! 😵 Cheese cake was tolerable but tiramisu was terrible 😔 Two of us ordered Irish coffee. Both of them said there was less coffee and more alcohol in it!
For a restaurant with such a high price tag, this kind of food is unacceptable and unforgivable 😡 A definitely one time...
Read moreMy wife and I shared "Grilled Octopus " and Sauteed Calamari appetizers. The first one was more chorizo than Octopus, the vinaigrette was too oily and "papriky" couldn't taste the smokiness in the dish. As for our Entrees, I had Shrimp Andalucia, was not impressed, lumpy mashed potatoes and g9reen beans do not belong to the dish, some red bell peppers, spanish potato chips as a garnish would have been a great addition to the dish, less oil in all dishes will be nice and economically sound for the business, my wife had a special recommendation from the owner, ny strip steak with shrimp in a scampi sauce at $32 was a little over priced for a 10 or 12 oz select cut of meat in a small join in Wharton, let's get real, it's hard for everyone to survive considering the circumstances, but don't be greedy, people are coming out to support you as a local business, will I go back, maybe, we'll C. I am an executive chef, a business owner and it's always hard for me to be satisfied with what I get dining out..After all it's not a bad place to grab a bite...hope I wasn't harsh, Give it a try and judge for yourself..and good luck for the...
Read moreThis place delivered across the board. We started with the grilled octopus and the shrimp special both absolutely nailed. The octopus had that perfect char, super tender without being chewy. The shrimp was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. Honestly, you could stop at apps and leave happy.
But we didn’t. The shrimp and salmon special for the main course was next-level. Perfectly cooked, seasoned beautifully, and plated like they actually care which they clearly do.
Our waiter? Phenomenal. Genuinely friendly, sharp, and made sure everything ran smoothly. That kind of service takes a good meal and turns it into a great experience.
Closed it out with tiramisu and the limoncello cake both hit the sweet spot without being overly heavy. The tiramisu was creamy and classic, and the cake was light with that nice citrusy finish.
Everything from start to finish was on point. Solid food, excellent service, great pacing. Would...
