Very bad experience with behind the counter employees and the manager of the gym. Completely unprofessionally in responding to my concerns on the overbilling that I was charged. I was advised to file a complaint on the website and then maybe I would get a refund. I visited the gym for resolution and received none but an hour later I received an email notification that my membership was cancelled. I did not cancel it. This all happened on 10/1 the very same day I was charged the $39 annual fee. I have left several messages with NO return phone call. I am now filing a compliant with the BBB. With so many positive gym options in DG, this is NOT on the list. I would like to hear from someone other than the manager for resolution.
I have left 11 messages since 10/7/2021 with not one return call from the manager. Read moreI’ve been a PF member numerous times at other locations, this one just opened and is already a headache.
I tried to sign up (twice) in person. First time I went, I was greeted at the door and told they weren’t open yet, even though it said so online. They have zero “now open” signage, so I went by Google hours, which was wrong.
Today I went in to sign up only to wait five minutes for a worker to show up just to be directed to the mobile app, which I could have just downloaded from home. I enter all my info, including credit card, and the last page of the agreement they ask for them bank routing number.
I didn’t have my checkbook on me, because it’s 2021, so I went to the chase mobile app to pull it. Still had network errors on the app and it didn’t go through. It’s not a payment or card issue - and I really wish they could have just pulled my past membership info.

I went to tan and before I started I checked out the other beds they had. My session started in my booth before I got back. No problem right? I went back up front and asked the attendant to restart it. However, the attendant said he couldn't because the illinois law of one session per 24 hours. This is true but every tanning salon in the state, I've been to, has the ability to restart a machine, since they trust and empower their employees to make the simple judgment call of whether the person has tanned or not. Planet fitness has built their systems anticipating their employees are not competent enough to make simple judgment calls of like this.
