I had a very disappointing experience at this store.I purchased two products on September 9, 2025 – Bulldog Artificial Spicy Chicken Flavored Ramen (which had expired on May 12, 2025, and today is September 18, 2025, meaning it was over four months past expiry) and Royal Sona Masoori rice (which had a very bad smell, even though I am not sure if it was expired). Finding one bad product might be an accident, but having issues with two products at the same time raises serious concerns about quality and storage practices. When I noticed the issue on September 18, I called the store in the morning. The employee asked me to send pictures of the products and receipt, which I did. However, I never received a response until I called back myself. At that point, I was told I could bring the items in for a refund. While I appreciate the refund option, the way the matter was handled was very unprofessional. When I asked to speak with the owner to ensure this does not happen again, I was told the owner never comes and was refused further details. Later, the same employee called me back saying there were no expired products of that specific Bulldog noodles brand in the store. That response made me feel like my concern was being dismissed instead of properly addressed. Mistakes can happen, but expired food products should never reach customers, especially items that are months past expiry. Instead of taking accountability, the response I received was dismissive and unhelpful. This makes me very concerned for other customers who may unknowingly buy unsafe products. I truly hope the management takes responsibility and improves their product checks and customer service going forward. Before you purchase each and every single item make sure to check the expiry date.

Sharing an experience that happened to us in 2013. We bought a jar of jam here at Bombay Bazar which was displayed as being on sale. The screw on lid had a prominent and colourful price tag pasted across it. We should have noticed that something was off as the brand was unheard of and the advertises price was 1.99$. A couple of months down the line, after consuming half the jar, I pulled off the price tag sticker from the lid and was astounded to see the best before date on the jam was 2002. That’s a good 11 years after I purchased the jam! I confronted the owner back then but he shrugged his shoulders, asking to provide proof of purchase. Deceitful and disgusting to say the least. Hope nobody else have had a similar experience.

Store having a price descripencies Price of Vadilal Classic Muska Bun have a price and Tag says $1.79. Cashier was charging $1.99. When show her price, still not agreeing neither gave. Left without buying. It's not question of just .20 cents but it's a business ethics. As a business owner I know how to respect customers and pricing of products. It's many other Indian stores we can go. Trying to help our own community store. Lost our business and now either goes to Patel Brothers or Ambica or Indiaco.

I am utterly outraged and insulted, and will tell all of my friends to avoid this store, and to warn other prospective customers. I bought a $39.99 Prestige pressure cooker from Bombay Bazaar located in Downers Grove, IL. The seller opened the package to show the contents which I didn't pay too much attention. As I am not an expert on pressure cookers, there was no way for me to realize that there was a piece missing, and I did not realize that I would need to perform a detailed inspection of the product to do business with this man. However when I opened it at home I found the weight that regulates the pressure was missing.

I went back to the store to get the missing weight, he not only refused to either give the missing part or to exchange the pressure cooker, he proceeded to show me a video of him opening the box and showing me the product at the time I purchased and he said that this was not his problem.

This was a clear implication that I was lying about the missing piece. In retrospect, I am highly disturbed that this man filed away a video record of him selling me a defective product. He seemed to know exactly where he stored this video, as if he was expecting us to come back after realizing the product was worthless. In disgust over the whole experience, I simply left the defective product on his counter, without receiving an exchange or a refund. In hindsight, this may have been a mistake, as I assume he will try to swindle another unsuspecting customer with this...

The staff is super rude. They are egoistic people without any manners. About 4 years ago, I was here at 4:55 pm and they shut the door on me (sign said 5pm closing time). I told myself not to visit this place again. I used to buy many items from here but after their behavior with me, I educated many of my friends and family not to visit them. But some people do not learn much from their past (including myself). I visited them yesterday again as I was told that their service got better and they have fresh vegetables. Silly me. It was 6:50pm and they supposed to close at 7pm. Guess what, as soon as I entered (there were others too), owner (or whoever was at the counter) started screaming “Store closing”. I ignored those screams for a minute but it got louder and rude. I quickly went to vegetable section but did not find anything good. Some boxes contained rotten stuff. I was about to picks some things on my way back but irritating noise to tell me to get out as store was closing. The worst store/ service I can experience. Please stay away and tell everyone around you to do the same as these guys do not want customers. Their neck is too long to understand the basic rule of business “Take care of your customers”. They must have a lot of money or they are doing some other illegal business behind the grocery business which must be so profitable that they do not need any grocery customers. ...
