Just had my wedding reception at this venue, and I can’t thank the owner, Peter, enough for all he’s done to help make our event perfect! Of all the venues we looked at, Breckinridge Banquet Hall was the only venue that had everything that we were looking for.
Event Space: It’s impossible to pick just one thing we liked about the place because there are so many awesome elements! It has two floors, which made it perfect for hosting cocktail hour on the 1st floor and the dinner/reception in the 2nd floor ballroom. Both floors are accessible by elevator, and have bar areas (2nd floor bar is huge), plus ample space for guests.
The 1st floor has a cute chapel space for those wanting to do a wedding ceremony. The 2nd floor ballroom is gorgeously decorated with chandeliers and ceiling drapery. Uplighting, silver chevalier chairs, and round tables with white tablecloths are included as part of the rental. There is also plenty of free parking! Our guests had no issues finding parking, and our vendors were able to easily load and unload their trucks.
Location: The Banquet Hall is conveniently located near plenty of hotels and restaurants. It’s only 5 minutes away from the I-85 Pleasant Hill exit. We had our ceremony at the Vietnamese Catholic Church right down the street so the location was very convenient!
Overall: For the cost, especially during “peak season,” we got far more for our money compared to other places. There are few venues that are as accommodating and flexible as Breckinridge. Unlike other venues, you don’t have to use vendors from a small list of companies; you have flexibility in terms of table layout and decorations; and the T&C’s aren’t absurdly long, unreasonable, or full of jargon.
Given the current situation, we were comfortable hosting our reception at Breckinridge because of how large the space was, allowing our guests to socially distance, in addition to available outdoor spaces (patio and balcony).
Most importantly, Peter was incredibly helpful and accommodating by meeting with our vendors several times, working around all of our changing needs, and taking time out of his off-day to help us with cleanup.

The only downside was that while, signing, yes the contract states a time for leaving at midnight, but during signing owner seemed verbally to be lenient with if we needed a little extra time to clean at the end. Fast-forward to rehearsal time and wedding day, only one hr is given which was hard getting all the bridal party there on time due to Atlanta traffic so rehearsal was rushed and our officiant wasn't even able to attend, due to driving from Alabama. They do not give much time for set up beforehand. We paid for an extra hr and still felt rushed. Don't get too detailed with decor here. At the end of the night our catering and wedding planning staff were very upset about being micro-managed during cleanup from the event, stating he was constantly reminding them of time. If you want to be relaxed and not rushed this may not be the venue for you. Again it is very beautiful and pictures came out great for reception and ceremony but not much time for the cute before pictures because we cannot get the makeup artist to set up at the venue, the bridal dressing room is too dark for makeup application(picture attached). Read moreBreckinridge is an event hall right off of I-85 in Duluth. We had our wedding reception there on 2/10/18. We chose this facility after visiting multiple locations throughout midtown, Buckhead, and north Atlanta. The facility is gorgeous, very modern and spacious. The layout is very nontraditional , not your typical banquet hall with the reception area being upstairs and downstairs holding the cocktail area. The space boasts 2 beautiful bars, nice oaky floors with modern lounge furniture showered amongst the different spaces . The reception area comes with chiavari chairs, tables, tablecloths, a nice stage and backdrop and needed only minimal decorations, which cut down on costs. The owners were very accomodating, easy to communicate with and made the overall process a dream. Great choice for us! We definitely would choose them...
