I recently visited “Bling & Beauty Nails” with a companion for a special occasion, drawn by their advertised availability and assurance of walk-in services. Unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired due to poor communication, unprofessional conduct, and a lack of transparency regarding pricing and policies.
The Initial Interaction
We discovered the salon through a Google ad and confirmed their hours and walk-in policy directly with the owner over the phone. Despite assurances that walk-ins were accepted, we were told upon arrival that appointments were required. This disconnect was disappointing, particularly as I had traveled two hours through traffic after a personal medical emergency to reach the salon.
On-Site Experience
The technicians on site were kind and welcoming, but the overall experience was marred by: Lack of Communication: No clear explanation of service costs, after-hour fees, or price minimums was provided upfront, despite our inquiries. Discrepancies in Pricing: A discussion with the technician revealed conflicting information about pricing compared to what was later charged. Additionally, we were denied a receipt for clarity. Escalation of Costs: The owner repeatedly raised prices over the phone, double-charged taxes, and added an unexplained $150 fee.
Payment and Resolution Attempts
When attempting to settle the bill, the process became unnecessarily complicated. The owner involved law enforcement, citing payment issues, yet law enforcement verified that there were no technical issues on our end. Despite attempts to resolve the situation amicably, including offering to pay for the technician’s services and remove the work if needed, the owner refused.
Unprofessional Conduct
The owner and their partner made the situation more difficult by introducing personal issues and emotional arguments, which were inappropriate and irrelevant. Their criticism of us during the discussion was unnecessary and unprofessional.
Impact and Takeaways
This experience, meant to be a joyful prelude to a significant family event, left us feeling degraded, embarrassed, and undervalued as customers. While the technicians tried to maintain professionalism, the behavior of the owner and their partner overshadowed any positives.
Final Thoughts
Transparency, clear communication, and professionalism are vital in any business. Customers deserve to be informed and treated with respect, regardless of the situation. I hope this establishment takes this feedback constructively to improve their operations and customer service.
To prospective customers: always ask questions and ensure you understand all policies and costs upfront. You have the right to pursue further action if treated unfairly.
I sincerely wish this salon success and hope they use this opportunity to grow. However, I cannot recommend this establishment based on...
Read moreI just left this salon and it was the worst experience ever... I should have known from the moment I walked in and saw that you could buy a pack of candy, a hookah, and an outfit in the same establishment. I called prior to coming and asked the price for dipping powder with chrome and was quoted 25 bucks. I thought to myself, 25??? That's low but okay. I drive almost an hour, walk in to what looked like a low budget swap meet, and sit for about 20 minutes prior to being called to get my nails done. The young lady with the dreads was very friendly, and pleasant. Come to find out, they had like 6 to 7 dipping powder colors to choose from and they all glowed in the dark??? Ma'am, I am a 48 year old professional. After seeing that those color options was a no go for me, I was then told, well, we can put acrylic on your nails, then color and chrome on top of that. The young lady with the dreads began to take the color from my nails when the owner says, oh, you wanted your color taken off too, or do you want acrylic on what's already on your nails. By this time, I am looking like any minute someone is going to come from behind one of those cheap outfits she was selling to tell me I was being punked. I literally have NEVER heard of such. To make a long story short, the owner went from quoting me 25 to 178.00... ma'am, finish taking this color from my nails so I can go to a real salon that services professionals and where I can get professional service and color options. I am sorry and I never leave reviews but the service was as bad as the outfits hanging...
Read moreWhat valued I the most during my appointment was the attention to detail to my nails. I had the pleasure of having the owner service me. She continuously compared each nail on my hand & each on my foot to ensure that everything was matching to the T. I loved that she continued to asked of my approval of the service (color, design, etc). She was very down to earth & fun to chat with. I truly valued being able to schedule an early morning appointment on the fly as well! With it being a Sunday, appointment only, service, the one-on-one attention & quiet time was appreciated. I simply enjoyed the surprisingly very deep massages from the nail chair, LMN's enterainment on the TV, and the mani/ pedi treatment. The nail salon is also a boutique, there are a few outfits and accessories to look at. They also provide other services, ie: teeth whitening & gems. I do not live near by but I could definitely see myself coming back. Thank you for...
