Google says I’m in the top 10% of all campground reviewers and this is the worst campground I’ve ever reviewed. I HAD TO WALK THOUGH ANOTHER CAMPSITE TO GET TO THE BATHROOM!!! AFTER DARK, IT WAS ALARMING FOR THEM!!! I asked for a tent site, (in other words, no hookups), and I’m not even in the park, the entrance to these 3 campsites is before you even get through the gates. As far as security goes, I’m really not even in the campground. I felt safer in the woods up north than right here in the suburbs where someone could come and steal my stuff because I’m not in the campground. (If these are so great, why was I the only one in these?) I’m back in the woods all by myself. I have to walk through other peoples’ campsites to get to the restrooms, and I’m still paying $45 a night. When I talked to the young lady who reserved this campsite for me, she was not at all accommodating. She didn’t apologize, and when she said I could move somewhere else, one of the other places she recommended, campsite 55, was also secluded, and required a 20 yard walk from the road. When they started mowing at 9 AM, it took away the whole morning coffee in a campground atmosphere for those on the grass in the campground. Yes, it is the closest campground that I know of to Duluth, but not what I paid for.

Unfortunately this was the worst camping experience we have ever had. We specifically reserved a walk in campsite so that we would be away from other campers. We got there to find that they didn't actually have walk in sites. We were able to park at our campsite, which was directly next to other campers. The people next to us were talking loudly, playing music and sawing wood until 2am, even after we asked them to quiet down. I'm sticking to state parks from now on, which has a ranger checking in on things at night. We had such a bad night that the next morning my 3 year old was whining, saying "noooo. I don't wanna have fun. Wanna go home!" If you don't mind being on top of your neighbor then feel free to pay their high prices but we will never be back. The photos show our car or tent in the foreground and the next campsite in the background. The next camper literally had their hammock just on the other side of our car. This campsite should not be labeled as a "walk in" site!

Campground was clean and nice. Enjoyed camping out there. Only complaint is my reservation was all messed up and the lady in the office seemed to not want to take ownership over the error and just wanted to argue with me instead as if it was my fault when I made it very clear what I’m doing when I booked over the phone. I apologized regardless, not worth taking to bed and ruin the trip. I’d also noticed it’s cheaper on the website to ask for full hook up rather than by the tent price charged with no hookups. I’d suggest rent by the spot would be more fair than by the tent and you get less, that’s a bit petty and more costly to the tenters. Overall, I’d go back.

Great place if you're in the area and looking for a quick place to set up camp last minute. That is if they have the availability. Campground has picnic tables and fire pits at every site from what I observed, and a clean bathhouse which was very convenient for our needs. Especially when you're tent camping and you're needing to wash up after an eventful day. They have bundles of wood for a fee of $5.00 a bundle. There are also connections for RV hookups. Only annoyances I had at this campground was seagulls waking me up at the crack of dawn. Roosters have nothing on these birds, ha. Hopefully you don't ever have to experience them.

Mooie ruime en rustig gelegen camping. Goede en nette voorzieningen. Aansluitend op wandelroute langs het meer met vergezichten.
