The LS&MR Scenic Train Ride in Duluth is an experience that transcends expectations. As someone who has lived in Duluth for years, I was astonished to find hidden gems and amazing views that I had never seen before. The fully narrated tours tell the history of Duluth, the harbor, and the stories of the railroads that built northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, making it an enlightening journey.

Despite a 45-minute delay due to an unrelated incident of someone having a heat stroke on the tracks, the entire experience was handled with utmost professionalism. The staff ensured that the person was safely on their way to the hospital, and the delay did not dampen the enjoyment of the ride.

What made the trip even more special was seeing the joy in my five-year-old's eyes. He was fascinated by the majestic landscapes, the powerful locomotive, and the friendly conductors. The comfortable and clean train, coupled with the engaging narration, made it an educational adventure for him. He particularly loved the sound of the train's whistle and the chance to wave at people as we passed by small towns.

Despite the unexpected delay, the LS&MR Scenic Train Ride was a truly enjoyable experience for the whole family. It's a five-star attraction that offers a unique perspective of Duluth, even for those who think they've...

We did the 10:30 a.m. train this morning and it was nice and relaxing. We sat on a coach car on the way out and then went to the open Safari car for the ride back. Both were nice. The narration is only for the way out then you can talk on the way back, so if you haven't been on this train (or even if you have) try to keep your voice down on the first part of the trip so people who actually want to hear the information they are giving about the area can hear it! Never ceases to amaze me how rude people are. The volunteers that work here are awesome. Multiple volunteers stopped next to us just to give us another tidbit of info which made it even more fun. They are cleaning up areas of the river but it is still a really nice trip! You actually see more water on this train than the other train downtown. They don't scan tickets off the phone so make sure you print your tickets at home if you can before you show up otherwise you have to wait in a line and have them give you tickets at the ticket booth. I did not know this but will...

I have rode on the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad many times and it's always wonderful! The views are absolutely stunning and I love that you get to go back the same way so if you missed any sights, you have a second chance to see them! I have just recently moved to the area after ten years of visiting from England so my recent visit was my first one as a resident! I would bring my Dad with me to America on visits, and he loved the train ride also. Sadly, he passed away in 2021 and yesterday would of been his 88th birthday. So my Husband and I got a balloon, my Dad's hat and ashes and went for a train ride for his birthday. The staff were lovely, and very supportive. They even did a shout out for my Dad. It was a beautiful. Thank you to all the staff and helpers, you made a sad day beautiful. I highly recommend this train ride...

What a lovely ride! We had a delightful time on the train learning about the industrial history and restoration processes of the St. Louis river. Loved how the volunteers showed us various artifacts like photos, slag from slag point and, and a piece of an old white pine complete with a brand stamp on the end from when felled trees were floated down the river for milling. Narration was informative and interesting!
