We did the 10:30 a.m. train this morning and it was nice and relaxing. We sat on a coach car on the way out and then went to the open Safari car for the ride back. Both were nice. The narration is only for the way out then you can talk on the way back, so if you haven't been on this train (or even if you have) try to keep your voice down on the first part of the trip so people who actually want to hear the information they are giving about the area can hear it! Never ceases to amaze me how rude people are. The volunteers that work here are awesome. Multiple volunteers stopped next to us just to give us another tidbit of info which made it even more fun. They are cleaning up areas of the river but it is still a really nice trip! You actually see more water on this train than the other train downtown. They don't scan tickets off the phone so make sure you print your tickets at home if you can before you show up otherwise you have to wait in a line and have them give you tickets at the ticket booth. I did not know this but will for next time!

I have rode on the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad many times and it's always wonderful! The views are absolutely stunning and I love that you get to go back the same way so if you missed any sights, you have a second chance to see them! I have just recently moved to the area after ten years of visiting from England so my recent visit was my first one as a resident! I would bring my Dad with me to America on visits, and he loved the train ride also. Sadly, he passed away in 2021 and yesterday would of been his 88th birthday. So my Husband and I got a balloon, my Dad's hat and ashes and went for a train ride for his birthday. The staff were lovely, and very supportive. They even did a shout out for my Dad. It was a beautiful. Thank you to all the staff and helpers, you made a sad day beautiful. I highly recommend this train ride for everyone!!

What an amazing ride! The people who provide their time to operate this are so knowledgeable and more than happy to answer questions. The train ride was comfortable and the train itself was stunning inside. Very old and rustic. It was like a nature walk on wheels. There were snacks for sale and different cars you could sit in, including an 'outdoor" cart. Very affordable and worth it!

Such a wonderful experience for our large group and definitely a fun way to spend time together as a family. The open air cart was such an amazing experience and the conductor was so passionate and great with my son and his many questions! The ride itself was a great mix of forest, history, water and wild life. Amazing views. Amazing ride. I will definitely be back!

Very interesting and scenic ride. Even as a local, learned a lot. Highly recommend it. Honestly I liked it more than the North Shore Scenic railroad.
