I like this place quite a bit. I went there this past Father's Day with my family. We spent a good two and a half to three hours of walking around to all of the exhibits. The exhibits were will maintain from what I can tell the grounds were very clean. I only have a handful of complaints one some of them aviary AIDS and it's the animals did not look exactly 100% healthy. That bothered me a bit. The food was slightly overpriced. And unless you have some kind of discount or coupon I feel that the price of admission is a bit high. Just remember that if you were a member of EBT WIC or both you do get a discount on admission. For large families like mine that is crucial to being able to have a good day out. I think my favorite was actually the nocturnal exhibit it is where the animals were most active and got right up close to the glass and you could really see them clearly up close in person. If you go that is a must-see! The petting zoo was a little bit lackluster. Every staff member that I talk to you while I was there for the most part was young and enthusiastic and really seemed to enjoy their job. Which makes the experience all that much better. I think this is a great place to take families as long as you don't have a really young kids two and under I found that my 1-year-old got bored very quickly. Online highly recommend for single people or families. They have something for almost...

This was a really cool zoo. I really enjoyed the trails that took you through the forest that had little placards that explain different critters you might come across naturally. My son and I could have spent much more time here if it hadn't been for how hungry we were after all the walking we'd done.

Definitely get the season passes. You're going to get your money's worth coming here and visiting often. I especially can't wait to see the new exhibits as I've heard that there's a new visitor that is going to call the Superior Lake Zoo home.

My favorite creature was the snow leopard. She looked to be stressed with the construction that was going on and seemed to be very tired. However, it's my first time seeing a Snow Leopard in real life so it was so amazing.

I've also never seen a red panda in person either, so it was really cool to see and interact with the red panda. They were very active and going in and out of their little hideout.

We got to see the brown bear up really close as he was walking toward the glass, so it was really neat to see how large they are in person.

My son's favorite was the otters. We came at just the right time. FEEDING TIME. So we got a really cool show from the otters playing and chasing after their food.

We must've just really had good timing because we also got to see all of the primates and lemurs when it was...

My daughter (1 years old) and I went here the other day again. It was the WORST EXPERIENCE all because of a staff member named Dylan. He humiliated us, accused us of not paying, kept laughing at us, and almost kicked us out. WE ARE MEMBER'S, THANKS TO MY FATHER BUYING US THE MEMBERSHIP, I BELIEVE BACK IN APRIL. Any other time we have gone we've never seen this guy there before, and have always had the best time visiting the Zoo. He was impossible to talk to and extremely sarcastic! My baby was sitting in her stroller, with her little sunglasses on ready to go see all her favorite animals. This guy stopped us at the elevator and caused a huge scene! When I asked to speak with his supervisor, he turned his head to the side then looked at me laughing and said, "yes that's me how can I help you" he repeatedly did the same thing when I asked to speak to his manager, someone, anyone other then him, above him. HE MADE ME FEEL DISCRIMINATED AGAINST FOR BEING THE ONLY NATIVE AMERICANS THERE. I have since tried to contact Duluth Parks to make a report with no return phone call. I'm not sure we're going to even return there again at this point, hopefully someone can help resolve this issue and see to it that it never happens...

We booked a tour for the brown bears and it was an amazing experience. Feeding a carrot to a 1,000 pound (super adorable) predator is something I'll never forget. Tundra's breath was remarkably fresh! They were really hamming it up and being silly, I'm glad we got to see them before they tuck away for the winter. Even out in their habitat, they were fighting the snoozers trying to keep awake. Sweet dreams, guys! I've visited many accredited zoos. LSZ felt like a more private experience and a celebration of the north. There's a lot of native animals that are normally overlooked in zoos with bigger exotics, though there were still some beautiful non-native creatures like the snow leopard. The climbing areas are seriously impressive, I've been in bigger zoos that didn't offer that much vertical space. Every keeper was genuinely excited to talk about their animals. It was pleasant for us adults, but there were also children that looked like they were having fun at some sort of educational experience. This is a really special place that deserves more funding.

This year I got a zoo membership photos are from the few times I’ve been to the zoo. I went may 30th I believe which in not when I normally go I go in july/august so I was amazed how many animals I saw active by going weeks earlier than I normally do; because I don’t normally see some of the animals just there tails because it hot out, & I would want to be somewhere cooler too. I was so happy I got to see the new red panda 🐼,the other one is still in its own area till they get along/used to each other I hope they play together that would be cute. Can’t wait to come again. Also well like maybe 5+ years ago they had a pop up butterfly 🦋 exhibit come that was nice would be cool if they could have that in the future again, I liked the different kinds of butterflies and the importance of them especially trying to bring up monarch populations. I know the zoo is very busy getting the new caribou exhibit worked on maybe in the distant future it could happen again.
