Willard Munger Trailhead — Attraction in Duluth

The northern access point to Willard Munger State Trail (near Lake Superior Zoo) is quite confusing as it is actually an access point to three different trails. Once you’ve figured out the right trail, it is paved and very scenic. There is a little log shelter at about the 4 mile mark which came in very handy when we encountered a downpour. Beautiful location to go for a walk, run, bike, roller skate, scooter, etc. A nicely paved trail, and option to hike on rough terrain. Very nice scenery along the way with a pond, and river. We even seen a turtle in the pond, from the trail. If you're looking for a nice place to go this is a great option. You can go on a straight flat path, or a hill and curve path. Beautiful trail to walk, paved. Good for bikes, rollerblading, walking, skateboarding, and walking or running. It's an old train line that once ran from Duluth to Hinckley.
